Yes, ok -- with two players. Obviously. Once you've got beyond that any further ideas? Had some friends around and we all loved it, but the races weren't exactly wheel-to-wheel battles. It was mostly about who spent the least time flying off backwards into the kitty litter. So for a laugh I put them in F40s and said I give you four corners before you're off. I was wrong, it was two corners. Human, especially male optimisim of hurtling too fast into a corner and thinking you're a Stig. Anyway, all this is still gives you a winner but means it's almost like two separate time trials, not a race.
So I put them both in Copens at Suzuka. Much whining -- we want M3s, Ferraris, Porsches (for the last time, there are NO Porsches)... and no you can't have a fast car if you're going to use it as a tractor to plough furrows in the runoffs. Anyway, that turned out to be the best race of the lot. Too slow to spin off, so plenty of close racing action, winner took it by 1 second. Then we tried the GT40s on the Oval; no spinoffs, but as you can't go flat around the corners some skill involved. Three laps and the winner took it by half a second. The HSR also worked well as it's a simpler track and there are barrier to bounce off.
Any other ideas for having a good time with relative GT5P novices?
