The MR-S. This is a sweet car to run at the Mistral endurance race with a Turbo 1 and T3 tire setting.

I always thought those Supras where the 3 liter V-6. I guess I should have looked better at the opening video to GT3.:D

Actually...For the 2003 season, the JGTC supras have changed form their standard, single turbo-3S-GTE, and have now gone to a 5.2 Litre, naturally aspirated v8. It uses a bored 3UZ-FE, which originally has 4.3L. Yet another engine to keep track of. =)

Cool!👍 A V-8 in a Supra sounds like a great match! I hope it works out for Toyota. Maybe we will see a new style of Supra that has a longer, sleeker front end.

There is nothing like good ol' NA power out of a V8. Did you just read this on the JGTC website or did you see it somewhere too? I just looked on the JGTC website and it was on there, but I was wondering if you saw it somewhere else too.

I don't know, it doesn't really need a longer front end. Now it sure would be great to get a Supra with a V8 in it though.

Well, I think the match has been a good one so far, seeing that Supras have seen lots of podium time this season and the lots of pole positions. I think in Fuji, if I remember correctly, Supras held the top five time slots when qualifying. What I also enjoy about this season is the regulatory change in aerodynamics (Flat bottoms, ie: no diffuser work and such.)...A lot of teams have had to change their set ups completely and drivers have to compensate. I think this is why the GT-Rs are doing nicely, who have two victories with skylines holding first and second, and also why other supras, like the Denso Sard and the Au Cerumo have been doing well, too. Looks to bee a good season.

To answer Vash's question, I read the article earlier this year on JGTC.net then I was once reminded on www.supraforums.com so it just kind of stuck and was remembered upon the engine discussion in this thread, so I thought I'd share the tidbit.

Also, if anyone is interested, NBC is broadcasting American LeMans at 4:00pm est tomorrow. I can't remember the last time I've seen LeMans televised, so this is definitely something to check out. Take care, all.

I have that problem too. Thanks for the info on the ALMS race, I was wanting to know when the race would be . . . I was planning on watching it, but didn't know the time. Man, it such does suck that here in the States we don't get to see any JGTC races . . . rarely does Speed ever televise the races, but we sure do get all forms of NASCAR type racing.

American Le Mans? I've heard of that, but I never exactly knew what it was...I saw the highlights of the Le Mans 24 Hours last week on Fox Sports 2, it was a pretty good race. :)

You should watch the race then tomorrow, they usually are pretty good races. Plus you get to see two different classes of prototypes, GTS cars, and GT cars all on the track at the same time. GO CORVETTE RACING!!!

BTW, the website for ALMS is http://www.americanlemans.com/

So are these mostly the same teams that compete in the Le Mans 24 Hours??? Because it seems so, sounds like a nice series...the only 24 hour race we get over here is the Bathurst 24 Hour, but it's still a pretty good race, if only someone gave LIVE coverage of it...

For the most part they are the same teams that were at Le Mans. I know for a fact the Bentley's aren't going to be doing anymore competing . . . the 12 Hours of Sebring was just a warmup for Le Mans, and after Le Mans that was it for them. But in ALMS, you'll see the Corvettes, Prodrive Ferraris, a couple of the Audi R8s, the Alex Job Racing 911 (996) GT3, a bunch of those 911 (996) compete in ALMS, the Ferrari 360 Modena, and others. ALMS is geared as more races along the same lines as Le Mans. The rules for ALMS are the exact same as what the ACO sets for the race at La Sarthe. So when Le Mans comes acround, the ACO kinda gives the ALMS series cars some preferential selections. I thoroughly enjoy ALMS, I just wish they would schedule more races for the series. I also wish that here in the States we would get more road racing than what we do, and get rid of some of the NASCAR stuff.

I think the lack of coverage is about to change with the JGTC series...I believe there is a small tidbit on their new promo movie covering where it will be broadcasted. I think the States will get it, if I remember correctly, but I saw the video months ago...

I can't wait 'til this afternoon! I've always loved circuit racing, but Cart and such never interested me much. I love the closed-bodywork GTs. The last time I saw LeMans was like three years ago and I only got to see a M3-GTR dump flames out the exhaust in the pits like it was nobody's business.

For anyone who didn't catch the post---

ALMS racing coverage on NBC this afternoon at 4pm est

Well you are somewhat right about the JGTC and the States thing. I've watched the Promo Movie on the website, and in 2004 JGTC will be coming to the States for a race. It said on the west coast, so I'm assuming they will be going to Monterey, California and will be racing at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

From what I've seen this year of CART, I've pretty much enjoyed watching. It's not as interesting as ALMS, but it's still not bad. It's way ahead of all the NASCAR we get. I also have enjoyed the Speed GT Challenge, and the Touring Car Challenge . . . I find the GT better, but the Touring Car is supposed to be more fun to watch. I've got probably around five pictures of the M3 GTR dumping flames out of it's exhaust . . . go to http://www.highresautoimages.com/ and you'll see some there. It's a shame the ACO pretty much forced the M3 GTR out of racing . . . they restricted it to the point that it wasn't able to compete.

No no no, I'm not talking about shift-fires...I'm talking like flames were pouring like liquid and engulfing the entire side of the car. It was insane...It started blue and white and ended up black on one side. Crazy stuff.

Wow, that's cool, I sure wish I would have seen that.

That was a pretty good race. I think they said they're showing another one in 3 weeks.

That was hilarious when that guy in the 3rd place LM car jammed on his brakes right at the finish and got rear-ended.

I was kinda upset that they covered the protos mostly, there was a lot of action in the under-classes....Major congrats to the Lola MG, though.

There was no doubt in my mind that the 'Vettes had the GTS because the 88 Maranello GT car had serious grip problems, and the 80 Maranello, the only GTS putting up a fight for the GTS victory then rear-ended an LMP, ruining his front body work. The Alex Job 911s took the GT, to no suprise. All-in-all a good race.

That was Johnny Herbert that was rear ended. The thing I think that was messed up with it, after hitting the brakes, he then shakes his fist at the guy who rear ended him for his mistake.

BTW, the next race is August 3 at Circuit de Trois-Rivieres.

They always give the prototypes the most coverage. I was rooting for the Dyson's the whole race to win overall. Well other than the Prodrive Ferraris, there isn't a whole lot to threaten the Corvettes in GTS . . . the Olive Garden Ferrari isn't bad, but isn't quite as good as the Prodrive Ferraris. Alex Job 911s pretty much always win . . . I was surpised at Luhr taking the win over his teammate though.

but acctually, all those car that is listed up there is nice and fast car if u know how to drive it and the car suit u or not, over or under steer car. if a dude chose a car that doesnt suit him, he wont win, and sometime wont finish the race, he will just quit after a few turn ( if he doesnt have paition ) hehe thats what i think of, if got any mistake or wrong, just correct me ok ?

You have a very neutral opinion, but let's face it, A complete idiot with a DS2 controller, in a 900 HP denso sard supra, at super speedway, vs a 250HP Vitz driven by Freakin Mario andretti. The Denso's gonna win.

Any of the S2000's.
They may not be the fastest, but the awesome handling makes up for most of that.
With all things being "equal" I like the Spoon S2000 best. It will out corner, out accelerated, and out brake the plain S2000 and the Mugen. Strangely enough though, If you fully Tune one of the Plain S2K's it can be lighter, and have more power than either of the Tuner Cars.
