ok i have a lotus Carlton with 655hp and 1st gear it spins at full throttle for every car then the start at second it spins then the start at 3ard it spins also then at 4th it stops does anyone else experience this.and is there some way i good fix this because i don't really under stand limited slip thing:)

Ontario eh? What city?

Try accelerating at around 60-70% throttle, and the back wheels shouldn't spin. Worked for the Speed 12, at least.

There are a few ways to limit wheelspin I guess, and one is use less throttle :sly: Another is to make gears wider, in particular the ones getting wheelspin, but then you may need to modify the rest accordingly. Another way is to make the suspension softer combined with a higher ride height. This helps with weight transfer onto the rear wheels and helps keep those round rubber things planted on the road instead of vapourising into thin air ;) the problem with that is it may have an adverse effect on handling so it's always a trade off. Some cars, especially cars like the Supras and Speed 12 can have all these combined and make little difference because they love wheelspin. I suppose the Carlton with Race grade tyres will be tamable. First step is definitely making the gears wider though- hope this helps. 👍

Edit: Oh yeah, if it's handling and less wheelspin you're looking for (i.e. not 1/4 mile times) a wing with downforce can really help too. But it looks ugly on the Carlton dunnit?

Don’t start races with the engine bouncing off the rev limiter, just hit the gas as the counter gets down to 0. I assume you are using racing tires, if not you need them. You say that 3rd spins but 4th does not, so you need to set 1st in that area, very tall, but as short as possible while not breaking loose. If it becomes a real dog off the line, you can set 2nd at that point and have 1st lower, you will just have to use throttle control. You will most likely have to use the tranny trick to get the gears close enough so they all are useable. Set the final drive all the way to the right (5000 or 5500 I think), then set the auto setting to all the way to the left (1), then take the final drive back to the left about half or 3/4 of the way (2800 to 3200 usually for me). The goal is to get 1st high enough that it doesn’t just spin the tires, while 6th is low enough that the car can actually pull it. I’m just guessing on this because I haven’t played with a Carlton much, but I would say 1st should top out about 70 mph and 6th should top out around 200. ao lot nam dep do boi tre em de thuong thoi trang cho be trai thoi trang cong so nu ao so mi cong so chup anh studio dep

Does anybody else want to slap this guy upside the head?

Hey, here's an idea, use less throttle.

You know how nothing happens when you let go of that button, and a lot a stuff happens when you press it hard?

How about pressing it halfway, or at least less?

let's say u spin out some how then u want to catch up wat do u do use half throulette no u floor it and thnxs for the replies everyone

Umm no, you don't floor it. There is no point in flooring it and exceeding the traction levels of your tyres. Moderate the use of your throttle until your car has gained enough momentum to cope with full throttle. If you keep flooring it, you'll just keep spinning out and get further behind.

You may also want to try learning throttle control in a slightly less powerful car so and then move up the HP levels as your confidence and skill level increases.

You would use partial throttle, my tuning tips should help you to flaw it, but if you are still getting wheelspin then use partial throttle to get quicker acceleration. Of course I'm sure you know that and you just playin' :sly:

Please type in something approaching English if you want people to help you. It is a condition of your membership at GTPlanet that you do not use lazy "txtspk" contractions.

If you want to catch up, for any reason, or indeed win the race, you need to drive fast without crashing. If this occasionally requires you not to mash your thumb so the button drops inside the controller housing, so be it.

You need to learn how to drive.

You didn't say what you're racing against. That would give us some idea why you need 655HP in a Lotus Carlton.
When I first started I too had to have 600+ HP in every car I had and I too had trouble keeping the rear wheels from spinning. De-tune the Carlton and you'll increase your chances of winning and decrease the need to play catch up due to flying off the track.
