When is abortion wrong?

This is something that has many different viewpoints, such as it is wrong during the 3rd trimester, or wrong anytime. What I want to find out from you guys is when abortion should not be done and why at that time it would be considered unethical.

No fixed point if you ask me. You have to consider a lot of things except how far gone the pregnancy is. Medical, social and psychological matters, it's all individual if it's justified or not during a given interval.

I also don't think that the time plays a great role... dead is dead, but it's certainly harder for the mother in the 8th month than in the 2nd one.... at least in most cases... as GtJugend said, you always have to watch the individual case....

i think the conditions under which the pregnacy occurred are more important than the time, but the earlier the decision is made the better.

I'm not sure those choices can give an accurate response as not many people see the time as the problem. It's more the reasoning behind the abortion, not when it happens.

I think abortion is wrong after the 2nd trimester, after 6 months I think a woman had enough time to consider whether to keep the baby or not. After that it's also such a mess to abort the baby.

What if it's a perfectly healthy phoetus created by a rapist? Tell the (possibly 14 year old) woman she should have the baby?

here in the uk, it is legal to abort a baby at 5 months (20 weeks). even though my daughter was tiny when she was born (she only weighed 3lbs 4oz), she looked like just like a normal baby. a 5 month baby wouldnt look much different. how can someone purposly kill a defenceless child like that? when i look back to how my daughter came into this world, id say it was miracle. so tiny, yet so perfect. then when i think that some women would gladly give up on a tiny life like that for frivolous reasons, it makes me sick. what sort of person are they?

Yeah, but kill human life on that assumption? Also, the baby has no say in this.

I'm definitely pro-life and believes abortion is almost an murder. However, that's my personal stance on this, I'm not one of those crazy people who goes after abortion doctors. I'd go along whatever court decides. 👍

Yes, but that's an impossible request. I do think those people are bit selfish though. Sex, sex, sex, made baby, kill baby, more sex..... that ain't right, IMO.

Also, I forgot to mention in the last post. If the pregnancy was do to a crime, I think the woman should have the right to an abortion.

That movie is no Disney, it's real. All parents should watch that film, IMO. In it, I think there was a girl who wanted to take a HIV/AIDS test, but was afraid to. She asks couple of her friends to take the test with her. That slutty girl passed the test, but turns out one of the girlfriends(very purdy, if I remember correctly), who had just lost her virginity to this jerk tested positive.......... You know what? teenagers should see this flick also, not just the parents. Watch it, so you can avoid it in real life.

It's kinda funny but Ironically I'm in a Human Sexuality class now and the teach pretty much went ape **** Michael Moore style on us one day about how our government has molded (or tried to) our society to think the way we do about sex, talking about it between parents/children, and Abortion.

Unfortunately I don't remember all of what she said because I was so freaked out at the time but Abortion clinics have decreased and only 20% of the U.S. has access to them(I think that's what it was).

Don't put your opinion above the one of the mother, you don't have the right to do this; these women don't have an easy decision and it is hard for them; It can however be the better way, even if you examples ( rape etc) are not the case. And those who had an easy decision and no psychological problems with the abortion probably aren't the best parents anyway, so they should also have the right to abort...

I think that there is an unsolvable problem : many of you speak of life as an present, that has to be saved at any costs... In fact every woman could get up to 40 babies, realistcally maybe 12 and every man ... well thousands ... If you abort a baby, it has no pain and after the act, it is dead, or better : it is not living as hundrets of millions of other humans who could possibly come to life every day; there are too many humans on this planet anyways....

Of course adoption is a good, often better alternative ( for the child as well as the mother (psychologically)), but the women absolutly have the right to decide for themselves I think... It is their body and their life....
As a medicine student I might have a scientific view at this subject, but apart from the fact that most people don't know much about it, becoming a baby is not a mysterious present of God, it is just a natural thing; You maybe don't even have a clue how many babies die even before the mother knows she is pregnant...

There has to be a point where life is protected and it is the duty of the courts to decide where this point is. But never forget : this is just a fictional definition, that is necessary for our society; it wouldn't work without these rules... but there is hardly a connection to nature and its own rules....

It's like this my friend. I see where you're coming from and you're not wrong. However, the decision should be made BEFORE having sex. Also, I'm not just putting it on the mother. A lot of deadbeat dads do their best to force women to have an abortion. So I'm not just getting on the women here.

If you don't want a child, don't have sex. Abortion is the "get out of jail free card" that some people hold onto just incase the unexpected happens. If you're not having sex, you can't get pregnant, hence no need for an abortion.
