Purchasing Karts no longer gives us paint chips? (I haven't looked)

I didn't get paint chips from my karts as far as I can remember (I didn't buy the SPLs) and I didn't get paint chips from winning the championships.

First of all I have not been paying attention to paints at all so I could be wrong, but does a 'silver'-looking chrome paint not come as one of the options with the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo gift? I didn't pay attention to see if you actually receive a paint chip with that gift?

It looks like paints gifted by seasonals aren't random anymore
According to sceen shot above, i've got the same colors.
I will try to get the prize from seasonals again to check if i will receive the same colors or not.

Nope, no paint chip.

If the car's color has a name (i.e. "Midnight Blue" or "Rosso Corsa", or even just simple "Red"), then you'll get the paint chip for that color. If the colors don't have a name, just a "--", then you don't get a chip.
