Which book are you currently reading?

I just finished reading it, it was actually a little better than the first one in my view.

Up next...

^ Number 4?

Didn't know there were sequels to the original three.
Yup. Just came out.

It is known that Stieg Larsson had plans for more books on this series, including a couple of hundred pages already written on the fourth one, before he died.

The weird part here is that, despite this, this book is written totally from scratch by this author David Lagercrantz (without any access to Stieg Larsson's stuff).

Larsson had a particular style that really grabbed me - he not only made Salander stand out he made her an incredible yet quite believable character. I was dismayed that there were only three books in the series, so this is good news - must get a copy and have a look.
Sometimes ghostwriters flub it, other times their work seamlessly follows the original writer. Larsson would be a hard act to follow. If Lagercrantz has succeeded that would be phenomenal.

The first three are among my favorite books so I'm looking forward to reading the new one, although I'm keeping my expectations low. Now I just have to wait for 35 other people to read it before its my turn to check it out.

Well, Lisbeth is such a richly drawn character, full of spunk, verve, and chutzpah - and the situations she gets into are literally hair-raising. To have the series end with the Hornets' nest episode was unthinkable - she had to live on. Like Frodo.
To have the series picked up by a ghostwriter is of course the ultimate compliment - the original author is immortalised in a strange way; they live through the idea they gave birth to.

Somewhat like Fleming. Lives on in the Bond series. Doesn't matter if it's Amis, Gardner, Benson or Deaver that actually write the post-Fleming books.

Heheh . . . yes . . . hopefully no spoilers. We got to get the book quick! Or hide.

I've always wanted to read those types of books, but I worry that I won't understand half of it. I may give it a go once I'm done with Lost World as I'm still far down on the wait list for the new Millenium book.

I'm reading Revolution by Russel Brand at the moment but it is quite hard to follow. The things that make his comedy funny make his writing style all over the place. I do like the topic though. Death By Black Hole might be next on my list though.

I finally finished reading this brick, the fact it took off where the last one ended really helped the pacing issues usually found in Clancy novels.

Now, it's time for Raptors.

I finished The Lost World and must say I found it a tad disappointing. I just didn't seem to care for the characters like in the first book. It was still a good book though.

Up next is a classic that I've yet to read.

It's also a dick move. If they wanted a summary they would have hopped over to Sparknotes or Wikipedia and gained way more out of it than your 'insight'.

The book is only like 200 pages, he could've finished it in an hour or two. Also, ****ing relax. You're getting all pissed off over something as trivial as this. "George kills Lennie" is as well known as the whole "Snape kills Dumbledore". GTRracer just did a  emoticon and laughed it off, maybe you should learn a thing or two from him.

Nah, not pissed off at all. It's just extremely bad form to give out unsolicited spoilers, at the very least put them in spoiler tags. For all you know @GTRacer22 (who totally jacked my old username :P) was enjoying the story before you came along and ruined one of the most poignant moments in any book.

Also, the rolleyes emoticon is usually used to express annoyance, and his 'thanks' comes across as sarcastic in that context. But you don't seem to be one for nuance anyway.
