Well I searched the the whole PSP thread and didn't find anything much about this. Anyway, just wanted to ask which format is the best for the PSP. I know most of us would be using the MP3 format for our PSP's and could compress the file further to save space. But the problem is with most music files ranging from 3-5mb per song it would take up some space on the memory stick. I just found out about the ATRAC format after searching through Google and says it is a much more compressed format than MP3. It says that a 64kb bitrate ATRAC3 plus file is just as good as a 128kb mp3 file, and its smaller in size! ![Dopey :dopey: :dopey:](/wp-content/themes/gtp16/images/smilies/dopey.svg?v=3)
The problem is, there seems to be little support for the format, and the only converter I've found so far was the Sony Connect SonicStage file converter. But after searching more about the product, it seems that the file has a DRM protection and other loads of bs. So that plan seems to backfire on me right now.
So like, are there any other formats better than this? I've thought of using the .ogg vorbis format, but it seems the standard player on the PSP doesn't support it. 👎
So any ideas on which format is better? Are there any better ATRAC to mp3 converter besides SonicStage?
