I've chosen Lotus for the first team to drive for (like i did in F1 2010)

I'm racing on proffesional diff, all assists off, and sims on.
Currently 7th in DC with 34points. I usualy qualify as 17th-12, and finish in top 15.
I'd changed diff to legend AI by mystake on Spain GP and was fighting for 17th place. Monte Carlo was stunning race :) Loved it ! (restarted like 6 times because of crashes in first right corner)

I don't mind about graphics (have PC ver aswell) but driving pleasure is great.

In online races i was 5th and 3rd, did some split screen racing with my wife, and she was enjoying it a lot ! Great time playing this game.

How many laps are you guys doing?

No matter how good you are if your driving for Lotus your car is not good enough to score points unless your AI is set to easy.

Unless your doing 3 lap races, or driving like lunatics to pass everyone and then blocking them so they don't pass you after the first few laps.

I try to keep it as realistic as possible so at the start when there are traffic jams I don't dive up the inside, I usually make a few spots but the other teams are so much faster that they all catch up and pass me before the end of the race.

Since yesterday i go for at least 50%, but think i´ll change to 100% distance. It´s great to be focused for about 1 1/2 hours and scratch off some time from your opponents every lap. Better experience at all!

It´s nice that you try to be realistic there m8, keep it that way :)

First season i set to 20% long race, so about 11-13 laps.
I push hard right from the start and gain places. Then after pits i need to defend.
Start on soft, then hard tyres.

100% is really fun, you see all sorts of strategy and change in race pace. I just finished Malaysian GP with Lotus on Legend difficulty, qualified 17th, opted for a quick first stint and broke away from the mid field, but struggled with tire wear and fuel shortage (max mix for a number of laps in the opening), and gradually hung on to 16th, could do better certainly but it was huge fun.

Quick question, how do you get to choose your rival? Ive done done Monaco in my first season at HRT. Is it further down the line in my career?

HRT selected for Season 1
3 laps and 20% for first season, second I will do 50% then Full
AI = Legend
Assists = OFF (except in Rain only TC, found out AI's have TC...not impressed)
Rival = Alonso
Drivers Championship won
Manufacturers Championship = leader
4 races to complete season
7 contracts, I will take Ferrari

I chose Lotus, I'm playing on expert mode with professional AI.

I can usually qualify around 18th and finish 14th-17th

However when it rains I seem to be the only one affected and I'm struggling to beat Virgin and HRT

Yeah, AI seem to have TC on, giving them a huge advantage in the rain.:yuck:

I'll choose Force India, as I am from India :P
Although the game released on 23rd, there's NO STOCK available anywhere ... WTF???
Waiting for my copy now..
Does the Force India have DRS / KERS already, or will I have to work for it?

Got the contract offer from McLaren after winning the WDC in Suzuka - funny that all the small teams like HRT, Toro Rosso etc. had set deadlines like after the Korea race etc. but McLaren said "We have big plans for you. Tell us if you're up for it whenever you want, bro - just tell us until after Brasil.". :D

You´ll have it right from the start. First upgrade was a +5% Downforce iirc.

In my second race my KERS was out of order for 10 laps or so before it started working again. :)

*edit*

All cars have DRS. Only KERS isn´t available on some cars, like Lotus, as far as i know.

Only nine teams will get to step into the new Formula 1 season powered by the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS), according to a report from Germany's Auto Motor und Sport. Needless to say, those teams are last season's newly entrants Team Lotus, Marussia Virgin and Hispania Racing F1 Team.

:)

Williams, finished first season, 20% on legend (no tc, abs, and auto) came 6th, way behind hamilton(rival came 5th). Only got offered williams and force india. Started 2nd season, and car has become noticeably quicker, even rubens managed a higher place.
And on that note, also more development boxes popped up, especially for unique(first season none), 2 new unique development options came up.
Has anyone who stayed with there team notice this? Does the car become better after each season?

actually not that out of reach if you exploit the first lap advantage in a short race, the AI isn't very good at passing. You can easily gain 10 place and stay there until the first pitstop hits, and 20% race distance is well ahead of any pitstops.

Virgin for the challenge. Qualifying 13-19th over four races. Best race was on lap 23/28 in 9th when I went to overtake some back markers only for one of them to suddenly pull out and side swipe me into the barrier. I dont like rewind feature so that was it. to the pits with no nose and a puncture. Finished 22 after qualifying 13th...grrrr

Lotus, it felt wrong choosing Williams or Force India since you may as well jump in at the top if you join straight into the midfield fight! Performance varies wildly though, and I think the objectives change race on race too readily.... 10th in qualifying for Lotus would be AMAZING, yet I get an unhappy cutscene because I haven't achieved 7th.... I'm not bothered by it, and accept you are not always going to make objectives but there should be a limit for each team really.

I was disapointed that Sauber weren't in there, mind you if they took all the CAD and results and based the car peformances on the first race then I'm not suprised as Sauber scored points and Williams didn't...

I finished the first season in the Williams car in first place. I adjusted a lot of things like putting the AI at intermediate so it wasn't on hard difficulty anymore. Now I'm in the Torro Rosso car and will stay at hard difficulty for the whole season now because I think I'm used to how the game feels now compared to last year.
