OK, don't shoot! I know there is lots of information if I use the search function. I have, but I am getting an overwhelming amount of information to go through and I am finding wheel stands that I never knew existed.

I want something for my DFGT (might upgrade later). I currently use a desk as I always have but I get sick of having to remove and replace the wheel each time I play. Plus I have just moved into a place with hard floors, I know the pedals are going to slip.

I dont want to spend any more than around $300AUD, which is about $301USD ;)

The wheel stand pro seems to go down well with people, but what about the ap2? It looks like it would be great. What else should I be considering? What is considered as the best in this price range?

EDIT: Another key concern is the stand slipping on the floor. For owners of these stands, what is on the bottom of them?

I have the WSP and love it. It has rubber on the lower tube portions for grip. I considered the AP2 but the shipping cost to the U.S. almost doubles the price. I hope this helps

sorry if im hijacking but, with the wheel stand pro if you added a full size racing wheel like chilicoke's would it be to close to shifter? (g27).

Someone might argue with me, but I don't think that putting a real-size wheel on a wheel stand is something you really want to do. Yes, they these wheel stands are quite good, but in terms of stability you still can't compare a wheel stand to a table or a cockpit. With a bigger wheel rim you can put much more torque on the wheel axis -> are these wheel stands stable enough to handle it? I don't know.

I have the WSP and I use it with my GT3 wheel. It's an excellent piece of kit, and was just as good with my DFGT when i was using that.

What about the wobble on the WSP? I watched a couple of reviews on youtube of the WSP and the AP2, they said wobble was a little bit of a problem with the AP2. But when I watched the WSP review, it was moving much more.

Ok, just went online to tell someone to get a wheelstand pro. And you are the one! :sly:

Last year I was searching for a wheelstand and ordered a Speedblack EVO wheelstand. I returned it the same day I'd recieved it. It was far to wobbly and the build quality was, in my opinion, poor.
I lost my trust in wheelstands and believed it was not possible to produce a lightweight small wheelstand which is stiff enough for fun driving until a friend of mine ordered a wheelstand pro.

After 5 seconds of driving it was clear to me. This product rocks. The build quality is really nice and although if you try hard it wobbles but when driving you really don't mind. I'm sure that for it's price it's the best thing you can buy!

Cheers!!

I bought WSP and returned it right away. Whoever that makes it need to change the awful clamp where you can adjust the height. The clamps were way too tight. Both the height adjustment and folding clamp. I couldn't turn that thing at all even after putting grease. I was able to adjust it only after loosing the nut but then the stand becomes unstable. It's not a very good design and way overpriced.

This is why we don't use a quick release. Hard to tighten and still not strong enough.

Wow, that surprises me. I admit that the fastclamps where a bit hard to tighten but not different form a bicecle saddle clamp.
After tightening the clamps there is absolutely no flex. The whole thing is rock stable.
Maybe you had a faulty one?

Wow, that that surprises me. I admit that you need to apply some power to tighten the fastclamps, but not any diffrent from a bicycle saddle clam. After tightening the whole thing is stable as a rock.
I think there is no better wheelstand on the market. I think the fanatec wheelstand is not better only as good, but I never played on one so don't trust me on that one.

I've had a WSP to go with my DFGT for a year and I can't fault it. It might look like it wobbles but it's just a bit of flex and feels rock solid. I've never had a problem with the quick release clamps, the same design can support the weight of a grown man on a bicycle so it should be fine for a stand and there is adjustment to tweak the clamp pressure.

Another WSP user here and I would recommend it to any body. Yes the clamps need to be stiff to function, but once set up are fine. Proper value for money in my opinion.

Sonac - I'm about to fit a 35cm momo wheel to mine (when it arrives) so we'll see.

Have now fitted a 35cm wheel and after adjusting the stand geometry have had no issues at all
