Close but not quite the same... the pedals arms are metal on the T-GT pedal set.
WOW. They made a part that never breaks stronger.
Although I am not really sure if aluminum is really more durable under these conditions than good old plastic.
Sure, if $500 is nothing, go get them all.

Sarcasm???

Your statement wasn't quite right so I informed you of that. Also, the plastic brake arms have been known to break... it's very rare, but it has happened.

I would get the G29. I've heard fairly decent ratings on it

OR a G27 paired with a Drivehub converter, it works quite nicely

Dont't buy the Thrustmaster. Their failure rate is EXTREMELY high. Mine broke after 4 months. Their "repair" doesn't make the wheel feel as it was before it broke.

If you really play a lot and have the money I can recommend the T-GT. I've driven almost three times around the globe (over 100000 km) with mine. I've used it for hours without the force-feedback fading, something I'm not sure the Fanatec can endure with GT Sport w/ FFB Max Torque @ 6 (before purchasing anything I read the user manual for the Fanatec. It states that the CSL Elite is designed to be used for one hour per day!)

I don't use the pedals, though, as I have the all-metal "Pro" edition.

Good luck with your new wheel, whatever you chose!

Fanatec always for me.

My old CSR Elite from 2012 still going strong.

I've had the CSL Elite now for only 3 months, use it 2-3 hours a day and it hasn't coughed.

Fanatec has more/better rim choices but honestly the wheelbases today when you compare mid end units like the TGT/CSL there's not a huge difference.
Pedals make you faster so I'd base any wheel buying decisions on stock pedals with future upgrade compatibility/routes.

Can you combine Fanatec pedals with a Thrustmaster steer ? I have the T-GT and I like the steeringwheel very much but am very dissapointed about the pedals. My son has the CSL combination and his pedals are so much more better than mine.

I’m really enjoying my T300 GT, I use it on a low torque setting(4) in hopes that it will last me as long as my DFGT did, So far so good. :)

Any information about real experience of the additional "immersion" force feedback of the TGT would be helpful, I guess.
This is the TGT's only distinguishing feature, isn't it?

I agree, the pedals are not what they should be for what is a very good wheel. Recently I bought the Richmotech load cell mod and it's just the upgrade the T-GT pedal set needs to complete it, so if it's a load cell your after it's a great option. I would have gone the Fanatec pedal route but with factoring in the cost of the Drivehub (I couldn't find a CPX adapter) as well as the pedal set and shipping everything to Australia it was just too expensive.

I would love to try out the Fanatec, or any direct drive wheel. I bought my G29 for 2 reasons. First was price. The other was trust. I had a Thrustmaster and a Mad catz wheel years ago-pre GT3. They both broke. Then I got the the original Logitec Force Feedback Pro and used that through GT3 and 4. It has a lot of use and still works great. I actually did the 24hours at Nurburgring in real time with that wheel with 2 friends. Can't tell you how many miles it has on it, but I would say it averaged 15-20 hours a week for 4 years and never had a problem.

The CSL and TGT are better than the G29, but there are big questions marks for me over the reliability of Thrusmaster and Fanatec, which is why I purchased the G29. Plus it was on sale for 40% off at the time. :D

Voted TGT if money is not a big deal. For me it doesn't seem worth it though.

This must be the funniest thing I read in a while: Because you had doubts concerning reliability you ended up buying he plastic cheepo. That makes sense...

Ok, here we go. Friend of mine, VP_Bellof956, European FIA finalist, bought the T-GT recently. The first set he shredded on the first evening. Back to Amazon it goes, the new one there after two days. Brake spring breaks on the second day of use. So ok, reliability IS an issue. And I still think it’s too expensive for what you get, the pedals especially are crap.

Fanatec, my stuff. Base, heavily modded Elite P1 rim with QR and magnetic shifters, V3 inverted pedals, shifter, handbrake, V2 Formula rim due for delivery at the end of the month. Built like a tank. Sometimes there seems to be trouble with the connectors. But apart from that I guess my grandchildren could still use it if I don’t sell it before. Pricey, yes, but I‘ll get about 90% of the price I paid back selling the stuff one day. Because everyone knows that it’s almost as good as new being used.

I had a G29 for 3 months. It was completely toast after that, at 4-5 hours driving daily. For a complete noob, yes. To start, not to keep and build on. Next to no FFB compared to the other two hence you never learn to drive the tracks the way they should be driven. Wouldn’t buy again for 90% discount.

No FFB fading at 4-5 hours daily, ingame settings 8/10 on the Fanatec.

I am also using CSL Elite with CSPv3 (+ air damper), use it up to 6 hours some days...

i have no FF fading in any way, no loud noises even after hours of driving and active cooling.
The CSPedals are just perfect! (i switched clutch to center position, you can extend the "armlength" of the pedals if required, extension come with it)
The only thing negative i can say is there are first signs of excessive use on the alcantara part of standard wheel. i drive without gloves! Thats it.
There isn't anything i dislike and i'm more than statisfied with the gear.

Fanatec all the way!

I started with g29. Returned it after a 2 days as it was making loud, odd noises. Went with fanatec CSL. never looked back.

Using a wheel stand at the moment . Looking to get a F-GT sim at some point

It's basically a small tactile Puck built into the back of the wheel, that add vibration to the wheel.

It's limited to GTs only and having tried it not worth it over a wheel without it, as you can get better results with a standalone tactile unit, which will then work with every title, and give you a much wider range of textile experience across your whole rig

You can buy an add on that adds vibration to a wheel? Can you get ones to add vibration to your seat and pedals too? If so, what are they called and where do I get them? Thanks! :)
