White wheels on my white 500? What do you reckon?

I don't like the 5-spoke Borbets. I think they would suit a 1980's Mercedes but not a small car. I'm definately still in the black BBS camp and those clones on the previous page didn't look bad.

I do think they're rather expensive, though, being popular with the Tofu crowd...

Oy! no generalizing! :grumpy: and some of the replicas are actually rather affordable. genuine RS Watanabes are expensive since they're out of production..

Go with the Black BBS 👍

I can't, they're all too wide for my car. I saw some nice wheels on a Swift earlier that would suit my car I think, from the Wolfrace Asia-Tec Red range;

They look very similar to the ones on the first page but the build quality looks good from what I saw on the Swift today. 👍

I've found them!

I actually like them in a chrome finish too!

YUMYUMYUMYUMYUMYUM. €319 per corner though! :lol:

So those are 17"? And that price includes some kind of a tire also?

Yup, they come with Pirelli 215/35 17 tyres. They have a standard 16" version for €219 per corner too;

But the Fiat optional alloys are a similar style to that and much cheaper. They look a bit boring in standard finish IMO.

Trouble is, getting them over from Germany would also cost a lot of money :(

Watanabe RS would be nice, being minilite ripoffs and all..
They both came out during the 1960's, so we don't really know.

They are still in production, my friend had some custom made last year.

They are expensive though, and they look bad in high offsets, which his Fiat probably requires.

The gold Enkei RPF1s are only made in 17 inches and up, they would look too big on his car, although I do recommend the wheel itself.

I know I keep posting about this and changing my mind, but these just caught my eye as a guy on the Fiat forums might be selling them for £275 delivered! :eek:

I love them to bits, if I can get them for that price then I will, they're an absolute steal!

Bumpage time due to much, much win:

Borrani Sray wheels. 6.5x16" at the moment, and a 17" will follow. The company has 87 years of history and the wheels have been specially designed for the car. More on their website

You will not find wheels cooler than that :sly:

(You probably also won't find wheels more expensive either though... no word on price but they're hand made and limited production...)

if you are going to get novitec ones, I suggest the black ones. The chrome ones look too cheap - although overall, I'd suggest getting some TE37s in either gloss white or matt black with a red ring on the rim.

Another thing you could consider is spruiking up the tyre itself. I know someone who has a Honda Prelude showcar with low profle tyres that he has made blue wall (instead of white wall). It really comes out as only a ring on the tyre but adds greatly to the overall look. My friend and I were thinking the what ifs and wondered what it'd look like with the colours of your nationality(or the cars) as rings around the tyre. like having the Italian flag wall tyres. (The colours would run along the circle curve - not perpendicular - just to be clear).

Do you genuinely not think they suit the 500? They aren't even chrome so they don't look too bling.

No they don't. Apart from looking like wheel trims from an early 80's Dodge, the original 500 didn't have them. They are just wrong on anything less than 45 years old.

Have to disagree on this one I think then. And the world would be a boring place if everything was how it was supposed to be. I've seen wires on MX5s before too and in the right colour they can look pretty good. If you've got a retro design then you can get away with it.

If you've got a retro design then you can get away with it.

You can if the original car whose retro design has been borrowed from has some connection to that style of wheel. Other wise i think they just look wrong. Wire wheels were becoming old fashioned even before the original 500 came out in the late 50's.

I don't think they'd suit your Civic. They were designed for stuff like this:

And I still like the wires on the 500 :sly: Sod old-fashionedness!
