Who are you rooting for in 2004?

Montoya. I like Sir Frank Williams, and have a lot of respect for Patrick Head. Monty himself is an amazingly talented wheelman, and you get the feeling he's working really hard at controlling his temperament.

And his wife is lovely. Really, really lovely.

Schumacher, again. I'm watching the race right now, but the dumbass station covering the race is not showing it, eventhough the race has started... instead they're showing curling! And it's RECORDED!!

watch SPEED they have it on live i gave up on tsn a long time ago because of what they did at one race the only reason i watch tsn now is for RAW.

Oh ya almost forgot i'm going for shmi or kimi and i hope montota make a 1000000000000000 mistakes (had to change it cuz it's not allowed to say my real fealing's about what i want to say) this year as i have hated him ever since he took buttions spot. That kid could have kicked some major ass but williams ****ed him over IMO.

Geez - how clear does this need to be, huh? If you can think of a way to make this clearer, let us know. Don't post this sort of stuff again.

Same guy I've been rooting for eversince I saw him drive for Williams: DC.

I don't think he'll take the championsship but I just like the guy, I think he's got character.

Anyone except Ferrari - my personal distaste for Michael is well known here.

I'd like to see Sato, Button and BAR go well - I like Dave Richards, and now he's finally got full control of BAR and Villenueve's gone, the team can get focussed and start to move forward. There has to be something positive to come out of the whole Tyrrell/Reynard/Harvey Postlethwaite death/Honda GP team thing eventually, doesn't there?

I'd like to see Webber and Alonso further confirm their obvious talent. I'd like to see Trulli push Alonso, and Webber to come across a team mate and a car to push him to new heights.

I'd like to see Raikkonen and Montoya battle out for the championship - but I don't think it'll happen...

Ditto vat_man. I'm a big Williams fan, so Montoya for me. So long as the rest of the season isn't like Melbourne.

Jaguar and Button.
Everyone seems to be saying that it's just Webber and that the Jaguar is actually crap. Yea I think Webber is a phenominal driver, but I think Jag have produced a good car this year as well (well from initial viewings). I'd like to point out as I've done in other threads that both Jags were on 2 stops, and before Webber expired he was catching Monty. I think he could of finished 6th today if he'd stayed in the the race. And Klien I thought did an alright job considering it was his first F1 race :).

But this is Formula 1, not looking a Juan's wife....

<-- obviously :D

but it's hard to keep faith after seeing ferrari's pace... and yes, he did a mistake in the first lap... but, to quote an article in a f1 web site "On Lap 38 Montoya was past, the Colombian having made three competitive passes during the race and accounting for 50% of the race's excitement."

I bet right now he's wondering if a move to McLaren really was his best option...

as I'm wondering how exciting and competive f1 would be this year without a certain red scuderia. I can't blame them for perfection but... At least if they had two top drivers, not a second hand puppy...

Go get it Schum... another Boring title to add to your list.

I must agree with Bernie on this one... this is indeed a real disaster.

Giles, did you have a look at Kimi's girl too? :P

Well.....if Kimi had a deceent car my heart is with him. I think McLaren will work out the issues with the MP4-19 but it won't be until after Imola which by then is kinda too late to support Kimi in title hopes.

JPM....fun to watch, hottest wife in all of F1 (hell in all of anything) and when he is on he is ON. Problem is he cracks under pressure, not cracking like Ralph does (you sneeze and he is off the track) but he cracks big time none the less. Yesterday JPM was trying HARD and Ralph put paced him, anyone who has to TRY to stay up with Ralph on one of his so-so days needs work. I think JPM's focus is on next year...I just don't see him winning or even challenging for the title this season...as sad as that is.....

Schumi looked too smooth yesterday....I think the other teams will catch Ferrari by mid seaosn but if we have all these schumi/rubens 1/2s then it will be over by the USGP. Schumi looked amazing yesterday, all weekend actually....

I'm no huge Alonso fan but he also looked great yesterday. I'll be chearing for Button hough this seaosn for some podiums and I hope a win....

So I think Schumi will win it, though there are still 17 races to go so who knows.

The more interesting race this year will be for #2-5 in the constructors and #2-8 in the drivers...

Fernando Alonso and Renault. After the season opener, I am convinced he will be able to put up a fight for the championship. I was really hoping that the Williams team would put up a fight in that first race. Hopefully things will change.
