I can't believe Cadillac lost this race in this fashion. Even though Porsche and BMW did real well, this was Cadillacs race and they just had some crappy luck once again..what the heck man 🤦🏻

So many nice battles (lambo against alpine & peugeots), and many cars that performed a lot better than in previous races (especially alpine and "finally" peugeot).

Gt3 coverage got better (mentioned first time ~30 minutes into the race).
Solid race by the iron dames, Clemens Schmid performance was a lot better than what I've seen from him in the dtm :D

What are the points available for the last race?
I don't get if Team Championship and Driver Championship for Hypercar is stil up for grasp

Thanks

Drivers
6 Porsche-150 pts
50 Ferrari- 115
7 Toyota - 113

38 pts to win, #6 needs to only finish top 8 to clinch, the other 2 need a win and lots of help.

Manufactures
Porsche 161
Toyota 151
Ferrari 134

EDIT, this is wrong
25 to win so its Porsche vs Toyota, Ferrari is playing for 2nd place at best, at worst 3rd.

Any of the top 3 can still win with 38 points for a win, The rest are in a tight race for 4th with Lamborghini in last.

#12 JOTA has clinched the World Cup for Hypercar independents.

Michelle Gatting in the No. 92 Manthey PureRxcing Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Gatting’s outing for Manthey comes amid speculation that the German outfit is set for an alliance with the Iron Dames in 2025.

She will share the car with Gillian Henrion, the other rookie selected by the WEC, and Bronze-rated Celia Martin, who is also affiliated with the Iron Dames and raced in Michelin Le Mans Cup this year.

Iron Dames going to Porsche next year?

It looks more and more like the sc63 won't join the '25 season ._.
I could see that coming. They were the second slowest after the Isotta F and it's a shame I had higher hopes for Lambo. Hopefully they stay in IMSA.

I re-watched Petite Le Mans last weekend and I heard John Doonan say that the 2025 IMSA field is set. I think the SC63 is only entered in the endurance events but if they pull out of WEC could they turn around and run the entire season?

I admit, it's not for the 2024 WEC season but it may be interesting for some:

(I'm not a subscriber but the article was still accessible somehow. I don't engage in any shady setups, no idea why it worked, YMMV.)

Wow the top 10 is literally dominated by the big 3 plus BMW all the way in 9th and 10th. One thing is clear, this season was meant for Porsche, Ferrari or Toyota to win. Cadillac, Alpine, Lamborghini, Peugeot, and BMW had no chance.

Then maybe we should nerf these Big 3 with the BoP?

Nice VSC for the #12 Porsche. As if they couldn't have done this earlier...

Edit : thankfully, pits are open for everyone.

Edit 2 : "track is cleared" into "SC deployed".... :boggled:

Toyota wins.. again!

The stream on fia wec tv stopped for me multiple times in the first two hours and I had to refresh the site to get it goin again. That's not what I expect when I pay 60€ for it

"You've got one shot!" -> martin or graham quoting eminem was epic :D
An "orange" hypercar is comming in 2026 (Papayas are orange -> probably McLaren hypercar)

Toyota had awesome and horrible luck for their cars, strong performance by the peugeot #93 and the alpine cars/teams!

The gt3 coverage in total felt again mediocre, varying throughout the race. There were in the latter stage some awesome battles between the pro drivers (corvettes vs ferraris). Bad luck again for the mustangs (both had to stop because of fire).
Iron Dames were in p2 and then got a drive through penalty ending their race for a podium place :(

This season had many great moments but the technical difficulties with the fia wec streams and the (lm)gt3 coverage have a lot of improvement potential. Let's see what WEC 2025 will bring!

Lets be frank about those 5 other Manufacturers:

- Its WRT's first time having this program and BMW's first in WEC. Kinda unrealistic to expect them to be up there immediately, it was 2023 IMSA all over again but with the difficulty set to Ninja.

- First season for Lamborghini doing a program of ANY kind like this (not even full time last I checked), They didn't even expect big results so they are hardly losing sleep over it.

- A prototype program using THE most unreliable engine currently in single spec Open wheel racing AND in their first season. Are we really shocked here? Hint: Its that OTHER French make. Still sounds good though.

- Peugeot is just STILL behind the 8 ball, period. Even when they had Speed, the car just decides to go on strike.

- Despite the team name on the car, was there ever gonna really be a chance for one Cadillac to have any chance against multiple multi-car programs?

Overall, seems to me like the Big 3 have multiple seasons worth of experience AND the numbers AND just more reliable cars. Typical Sports car things really.

2025 should be a proper gauge for them with Cadillac going to two cars courtesy of JOTA as well as a second WEC season for BMW and Alpine and supposedly more improved reliability coming for Peugeot. Lamborghini is...questionable, no solid confirmation as to if they are even commiting to WEC in 2025.
