Who Believes In Karma?

Hey drifters,

Just thought that I'd pass on some sad news and since you all are the drifters I figured that I'd put it here. This past Monday me and a bunch of my Marine buddies went over to Kinser to drift around. Lo and behold the police were there waiting for us, so needless to say that we didn't drift at Kinser. We all met up and decided to go over to the mountains at Nago to go togue drifting. It was agreed and we all set sail. Now I had a bad feeling about this from the start and so did alot of the other drifters. But, since we wanted to have fun we dicided to venture on.

We got there and right from the start things started off wrong. Three local nationals (Japanese Nationals) were involved in drifting accidents in a 30 minute time frame and 4 more were to follow in the next hour.

Now it's time for the Americans to mess up. Two of my friends had a serious fender bender which resulted in an undrivable car and another one pretty bashed up. Two more took a 60 too fast and slammed head on into a guard rail the latter of the two richoched back into the mountain face disabling his vehicle.

Oh, but it get's better.

It's my turn.

I already didn't want to run because of all the bad things that happend already but I'm (not to brag) a better drifter than some of my friends are, so I set out and I don't even get half way up the track before I lose control and plow my back end into a light pole. So now I'm vehicleless (is that a word . . well it is now) and I think I might be in trouble if my Sergeant Major finds out that the damage to my car is because of drifting.

The reason why I bring up Karma is because not only did these accidents happen on the same day, in the same area and around the same time frame, but these accidents were all started at the same spot. The exact same spot and I think it was because we all had a bad karma about us.

I don't know, what do you think?

Total Casualty List
Japanese Drifters:
2-Nissan Sil-Eighties
1-Nissan Silvia S15
1-Nissan Silvia s14
1-Nissan Skyline R32
1-Toyota Mark II Tourer V

American Drifters:

1-Toyota Supra
1-Nissan Silvia S14
2-Nissan Silvia S13
1-Nissan Skyline GTS-t

:sigh::( I don't know what I'm going to do now, I've put alot of money into that car and now it's pretty much shot.:(

Semper Fidelis and Drift On (I guess)
Shadow Crasher, I mean Drifter

P.S. Everyone is pretty much alright, mostly bruses and scratches the one who richoched his car into the mountain face had a dislocated shoulder but that's the worst of it. I'm seriously thinking about giving up drifting now, it's just too real when you see your money get carted away on the back of a flat bed.:(

Man, that is just unfortunate. Good to know none of you were pretty hurt. Not that a dislocated shoulder doesn't but you know what I mean?

About the "giving-up-drifting" thing though, I know it gets pretty discouraging, but everything'll work out. Just hang in there.

Oh and to the guy that was asking if it was the "nice" Supra...all Supras are "nice"! ;)

wow. thats very unfortunate.

best wishes.

but what does it have to do w/ karma? unless u did something wrong to someone causing u and ur peers to get into these car accidents.

this is just a case of severe bad luck. and that area's just a misfortune.

My fault, I should have specified, the R32 is a GT-R, blue with carbon fiber hood. To clear up any confusion;)
Oh and to add insult to injury, in a rage of frustration I broke my FFB wheel, so now I just use an MC2.
:sigh:
Not my week.
I spoke to my friend with the dislocated shoulder just a minute ago. He's cool, and the bruise on his shoulder is huge at it kinda looks like Elvis:lol:
Oh the things Marines find funny.

Anyway, I'll send the video of the infantry unit strapping a satchle charge to the FFB wheel, that's gonna be great, but it's gonna take a week for it to happen. I can't wait to see that.
BOOM!

Semper Fidelis and Drift On
Shadow Crasher, Gyah Damn, I mean Drifter

P.S. I appreciate your posts of concern, it really means a lot.

Thanks Drifters.

Sorry to hear of your woes, I had a really close call myself not too long ago, and it kinda gave me a reality check (4th gear braking drift with 400ft drop on each side). I didn't intend to drift at all but came in too hot and it was raining, I was worried I wouldn't make it. Didn't see my life flash before my eyes or anything but it was definetely a hold-your-breath moment. I'd like to think it was karma that saved me because I'm so careful most of the time, but I don't think it was karma that ruined your day, like the others said it was just bad luck. Unless the people whose cars were wrecked had a history of crashing into other cars while drifting on streets.. then it might be karma.. but hopefully that's not the case, right? Anyway I can't wait to see that video! Is it a Driving Force? I hate that stupid thing! Why can't it shift when the wheel is turned?! That's so stupid! Argh!!

Thanks Pergatory, we usually have a great time drifting and nothing wrong ever goes wrong, I guess (like you said) it's just our bad luck. I'm sorry you had to experience something like that and I'm glad you made it out okay. But yeah, we really never have anything go wrong and we're all, at least, halfway decent drifters, that's the worst of us anyway, right now "Shin's" our best drifter he tought most of us what we know, which is probably why he didn't run that day. I don't know, I just wish that I stayed home and slept. Ah well, what's done is done.
And to answer your question, nah it's not the driving force, I made the video after I broke my FFB wheel so it's with the MC2, which I like better than my FFB wheel, because it turns smoother. I don't miss FFB at all. It was the momo wheel, which was a good wheel but like all good things, especially my good things, it had to come to an end.

Semper Fidelis and Drift On,
Shadow Cr, ah I caught myself that time, Drifter

My deepest sincerities Semper. No one should have to see or experience such a tragedy. Normally, I would love to see a picture, but if you ever post one, do not expect me to look. That many beautiful cars all wrecked is not a picture I want to remember, no offense.

I wish you the best of luck in restoring or replacing your vehicle. I hope that you find a way to resolve this utterly unlucky predicament.

-Toyo

PS. I have been there before as well. Try rolling a 1977 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, after you just spent 2 1/2 years restoring it and you just got it finally painted 2 weeks prior to the accident. I also have had a nice drift accident. Try hitting a cement guarder for a lightpost at 35. It was very reawakening. I got lucky, I had a friend donate a new 528e chassis that he wasn't using. 3 months later, I'm back in drifting action.

Awwww Jeeezus.......
My condolences on your loss.:( But don't ever give up!!!! If this is something you love, then the $$$ spent is worth it. You can't put a price tag on your happiness.
It usually doesn't take alot for me to be happy, but when it comes to my car............People know better than step in. I lost my car (my baby) 'bout 9 months ago, and would give a fortune to have another just like it.
Just take this one in stride, count your blessings, and remember: "**** Happens." I am so glad no one was seriously injured.......And yes, this is karma telling you to be more careful. If you got a bad feeling.....DON'T DO IT!!!!! My wife told me so, and I lost my car because I ignored it. Next time, it could be someone's life.

Be safe, and best wishes,
S.F.

:D
Good news guys, I think the drifter is back in.
Okay, the drifter is back in.
It seems that the drift gods are with me on this one because I earlier today I got word that one of my Staff Sergeants was selling his S13, well apparently, by the grace of God, my luck has it that no one purchased it, so having heard my horror story, my Staff Sergeant knocked off the price from 1200 to 800 dollars for this nice S13. I will have pics up soon. I'll have to change my profile now. Oh man, I'm so excited all of a sudden. This has been a wild two days. First I'm about ready to kill myself and now I've never felt more alive. Oh man oh man.

I can't wait to try it out. All I have to do is JCI (regester) my car and I'll be up and running with an S13. Too Sweet.

Semper Fidelis and DRIFT ON,
Shadow Drifters back baby

P.S. After I get my car registered and I transfer this LSD, I'll get some vids up of it going around a track. I think I'll stick to the track until I settle down from the accident, I'm still a little shakey.
You guys can't possibly know how happy I am right now, I'm changing my profile as we speak. WOOOO!:D :D :D :D

I had a Nissan Skyline GTS-t, I loved that car. I put so much cash into that thing. I can't believe that I wrecked it. So much for my streak without any car crashes.

So you still have the gts-t right... i mean things like the engine... turbos... bla bla are ok\ tight... i ahve heard of r32 engine swaps into s13's... but then again that might not be needed for drifting...

I would still keep the Skyline stuff to make a shrine. Yup, I just love them that much.

PS. Are you stationed in Japan? Cause some of these cars are hard to comeby.

mmm not much, ive probably seen you drive by like 100 times by now, keep an eye out for a black s13 with minor front end damage and mismatched wheels:D

Hmm, that's pretty cool. I look forward to seeing you're hooptie. I can't wait until I get this Sivia, I'm actually going to try to pay for the conversions to get it back to the states. I'm taking a 20,000+ loan from Navy Fed. It's gonna rock to have a non-JDM silvia.

So if you're up an about now, why don't you head over to the Guard Shack, that's where I'm at now.

Oh and goodluck on your s13, Shadow.

Hey I'll tell you what, you send me the bill, and I'll get it out of the junk yard for ya and mail it to your doorstep:P
J/K but I had someone suggest that to me because there is like no way to get one back in the states at a reasonable price. Considering you can buy a used GTS-t overhere for like 2000-3000 dollars depending on the condition, I've seen them sell for 1200 at times. Depends on who's selling it and what they know about cars.

Yeah I'm still in Japan for now, I can't wait to get back to the states however and drive my AMERICAN MUSCLE, Camaro IROC Z28.
The Skyline was fun, the Silvias were fun and when I get home I'll have plenty of video, pictures and stories to prove that I was in one and that I've driven and drifted one. But it's time to re-live the V8's. Hell Yeah!
