I certainly would.

The old circuit was genius. It was beautiful, the layout was engaging, and something about it just begged you to race it over and over and over again.

The new one, not so much. They gave up the brilliance of the old circuit to be closer to historic landmarks, which IMO was a bad decision - the game is about racing, not sightseeing! The new Rome has a boring layout and a shadowy, boxed-in feel. In short, it's a major downgrade from the original.

So my question is, would you have preferred the old Rome Circuit?

Amen 100% to your post. This is one of my biggest disappointments with GT5.

The new track is just a boring rectangle. It was just a dumb idea to get rid of the old track. And what grinds my gears is the new track still uses a portion of the old layout. Why didn't they just remodel the rest of the old track instead? 👎

Why not both. Maybe have a whole circuit of street tracks for Rome, sort of like the SSR tracks are for Tokyo. Also, it would be cool to see Rome (or any track) at night.

Was it GT3 or GT4 that had a Rome endurance?

That was probably the best use for the old layout. I like the new layout and the old layout. But the new layout is a bit lazy to drive.

Edit: And since there was no "Both" option, and there was a "Give me Seattle" back option, I went down that road.

I love Seattle.

Both GT2 and GT3 has Rome endurance races.

I wouldn't mind the new track at all if they included the first one along with it.

Yes please, the new one sucks. No not really, but the old one was at least as good, my opinion.

I like both, new one is awesome once mastered and very rewarding as is the old one.On the new 1 I did a 0:58 sec lap with the peugeot 905 '92, the new one feels like a very familiar old friend now and I grind it allot. So if anything give us both because the new one is already a favourite.

I would prefer both for GT6, as I like both of them in their own ways:
GT3 Rome= Rome South
GT5 Rome=Rome North
Combined Version=Rome Full

EDIT: This combined circuit measures 5.05km/3.1mi, so it's not too long.

Its about Rome => why put "just give me Seattle" into the poll ??

Compared to Rome (GT2/3) and Rome Night, Seattle is a boring Track (but I like it though).
I still miss allot of tracks. I thought PD would implement all Tracks of GT4 and give us some oldschool GT-Highlights (Rome-Night, RRV, Seattle-Short etc) but no they screwed it trackwise.
The New Rome-track is fun for me and a nice change in grinding (Indy is very annoying to grind at).

I think the new Madrid circuit captures the ˝feel˝ of the old Rome circuit with its fast and narrow sweepers and 90 degree bends. That being said, there is no substitution for the old Rome driven with the Alfa 155 DTM.

I miss ye olde Rome... it was one of my favourite GT2 tracks. In my opinion this new one lack the charisma of the original, and is too similar to R246 Tokyo and just as generic. It's not BAD, per se... it's just not great.

Maybe I'll warm up to it in time?💡

Selected the old circuit but also wish we could have back Seattle. I used to absolutely nail that track.

And also Grindelwald - great giant killer circuit where you could use low powered nimble cars competitively against 300+bhp machines.

*drifts off into memory land...*

Don't we just know the old tracks will come back? Like Mw2 did? But if they could put them into Aspec, I think that's gonna be tricky.

The first track I ever raced on was the old Rome Circuit on GT2, so I'd definitely choose it over the current version. The idea of having a combination of both tracks would be great also. I never raced much on Rome Night, so I don't really miss that track.

Personally I prefered Seattle, so that's what I voted for, but I would have voted for both old Rome and Seattle if the choice was there.

I voted Seattle, but I prefer old Rome to new Rome. I hated the old Rome, but it was at least a challenge, and interesting. The new one's just a box with straights that can accomodate 6 cars side to side, and that is not a good street circuit.

The poll is kinda hard to vote on. I want Rome from GT2 (the first corner was a joy to take) and I want Rome night and I want Seattle back.

+1 for this.

I couldn't put either Rome track ahead of Seattle.

Rome is probably my favorite new track in the game. I love that last series of corners, it's a real challenge to go through them perfectly. A Lotus Elise is the best car for the job in my opinion.

I prefer the new Rome circuit to the daytime ones from GT2.

I very much liked Rome Night, but looking back at it i don't know how well it would translate to GT5's higher levels of car physics.

The new Rome circuit has some great corners. Demanding in lots of different car/tire combinations.

I really don't see what people think was so great about Seattle. The absolutely ridiculous hopping over the bumps when climbing to the top was just not worthy of a race-track. Actually, with damage nowadays, the cars should be totalled after one such jump. Ok, I agree it had some nice corners, particularly the twisty section going downhill. And the section on the bottom was simply 90° corners and not very challenging.

By the way, I think the jump in the Eiger track (like it was in Prologue), is pretty stupid, too. The only cars surviving that jump would be rally cars in reality.

Haven't play the old Rome track but i want the Seattle back.
The new Rome look good to me. The downer are probably it's short.

Now to mention some forgotten track.
Hong Kong should be in too. Though, i know some will probably disagree with this because it's tight circuit.

The new is good, but they could have remodelled the old Rome track with both normal and short variants as well as the new one.

I voted for Rome Night though, because that was my favourite in GT2. Sadly it isn't used in the races other than randomly generated events and manufacturer events.

I never got fond of Seattle, and the Seattle Short was just as bad.
