Who here would have rather had the old Rome Circuit?

Would you have preferred the old Rome Circuit?

It's a shame all the tracks, such as Seattle, were not imported into GT5. Even if importing such a track will make it look as bad as Trail Mountain, at least I'll be able to visit my favourite track again...

So, Seattle is my vote. ;)

I would want ALL the old circuits back.

Seattle, that last chicane is awesome. So rewarding if you nail it flat-out, yet so punishing if you get your line wrong.

I'd love to see both, but the new circuit is one of my favourite tracks in GT5... The "flow" (as many so call it) is simply splendid on this track.

Why not all versions of Rome? They are all on the same area. I bet PD took photos and measurements when they did the job for the GT5 version.

We could have:
- Rome (GT2)
- Rome (GT2) Short
- Rome (GT5)

- Rome (GT2+GT5)

- Rome Night

Green: GT2 version approximation
Purple: closest possible real version

- Rome Full (Night+GT2+GT5)

Only good thing about the GT5 Rome circuit is the graphics and the grid. I loved the old circuit. It had a few tricky spots but once you got the hang of it, there were some speedy parts that you can pull away and separate yourself.

If GT6 could give us ALL the tracks from previous GTs, I think it could reign on top of the console racing world for several years. There or tons of us on here that loved the older variations of the tracks that we raced in older GT games.

Having visited Rome a few times in RL, I must say that it's pretty cool driving that close to the Colosseum. That being said, a night version of it would be totally boss.

RE: Seattle, yeah, that was a fun track to drive on.

The new rome track has a great first sequence (up to the hairpin) the old one had a great part about the middle of the track, great when you got it right, bouncing off the curbs.....bliss

I don't see why, if they end up going to the trouble to model the old Rome circuit, they wouldn't just add on to the layout and give us three tracks or more. Rome (old), Rome(new), Rome short, plus some combinations of each. (I for one, loved Rome Night, maybe throw that in there) I really like what they did with Cape Ring, they have Full, periphery, inside, north, and south; all of which I like.

And yes, Seattle was awesome, though it's not the only other track I would love to see return.

Hell yes. The old track had lots of challenging corners and series of corners that would take work to get right. This new one is just dull and basic.

I also can't be the only one that finds it annoying/stupid that there is a license test asking you to get through that downhill chicane absolutely perfectly then when you race there every single AI bounces off the outside wall, every single lap.

I just wish I could FEEL the cobblestones in my DFGT... Can't say I've ever driven over cobblestones IRL and NOT felt them through the wheel.

As to the OP, can't say I care that much. I just feel, why SOME tracks carrying over and not others? Either all NEW tracks, and no old tracks, or ALL the old tracks as well as some new. But basically, you don't bring them ALL in, SOMEBODY'S favorite track will be gone.

I just don't get why they wasted their time remodelling a new track when they had a perfectly good one already that just needed tarting up like the others.

This..

Uh, one thing about the Rome Night map, it appears to be supersized and misplaced. Specifically, I remember one of the straights (back straight IIRC) was run through a park-looking area and there's no park to be seen on that map. None of the straights were that long, and the last corner was a lot tighter - definitely not big enough to span a river.

Didn't like Rome ever in the old games. Had se great online battles on the new one. I want Seattle back but more importantly the 3 best tracks in GT4, El Capitan, Hong Kong and Opera Paris. Imagine if they went all out on Hong Kong in terms of HD graphics with the same setting as GT4.

Now that would be really awesome!

They should just bring back every single track that once was in a GT game. I really don't care when most up them end up as 'standard' tracks.

Btw. I don't really find Trial Mountain that ugly, but maybe that's because it's my favourite gt track ever:dunce:.

I agree. El Capitan was just a great circuit to race on, Hong Kong was one of the best locations for a Gran Turismo track, and I just liked Opera Paris for some reason. I wish these track would make a comeback someday 👍

El Captain yes. But I would take Apricot Hill and Midfield any day before Hong Kong or Opera Paris. But of coarse your entitled to have your set of tracks. I think if we are lucky, before Forza 4 hits, we will get those older tracks as DLC. Hell I will pay the price of a new game if we got ALL the tracks from previous games. If not, I have little faith that PD will hold off the competition much longer before things start to self destruct.

I like the new Rome much better, but only racing it to the right.
To the left its much less enjoyable, almost terrible.

I miss Seattle, New York, El Capitan, etc., etc., etc.
