Who is the best Bassist ever? In your opinion.

I think it's Les Clay Pool. My friend sort of agrees but also says that the lead bassist of Rush is as good as or better than Les Clay Pool. So who do you think is? Choose whoever you like, it doesn't have to be just the two I mentioned.

I wonder who Mild Matt will pick. ;)

well he aint the gr8est buts hes a good one...Sam Rivers

Pako is ;) Cliff Burton, and Geezer Butler are the best IMHO.

And yeah, he's good.

Heh, that was a joke. A friend of mine used to say, "I've got two words for you. 'So?'.", and leave it at that.

Hey it's Claypool not Clay Pool !!

Well anyway - I've got a few favorites: (In no particular order)

Alex Webster
Steve Harris
Steve DiGiorgio
Les Claypool
Mick Karn
Jaco Pastorius
- and of course good old Cliff Burton, may he rest in peace.

cliff burton, jason newsted, and geezer butler are some notables, also chris novoselic of nirvana.

There as only been one great bass player and that is Andy Fraser no other bass player as ever matched him if you listen to all the stuff he as done you will realize what I mean no other bass player as ever been able to lead a band like he has

ok your all asking who Andy Fraser is he was in the Band Free of all right now fame but dont just grade him on that song check out more of there stuff and you will understand what I mean

"Fat" Mike Stevens...

IMHO, Geddy Lee is the best I have ever heard.

the best band is the sunshine band. right, KC?

John Paul Jones. Not only for his playing skills but also for his expertise at musical arranging, just listen to all of Zep's stuff and the Stones' "Her Satanic Majesty's Request" or summat.

Doug Wimbish, Duff McKagan, Cass Lewis, Pino Palladino, Jason Newstead, me...

Wes Borland isn't good at all so it doesn't even matter. He isn't creative at all.
