Who is your all time favorite vocalist?Music

Only just discovered this thread years after the event. Off the top of my head, Aretha Franklin is a great vocalist. Ella Fitzgerald is even better. Joni Mitchell's album Blue is an all time favourite with me but like Stevie Wonder she's more of a full package all-around musician than merely a vocalist.

Gonna give a shout out to Sarah Vaughan. I love the way she sings the word "off key" deliberately out of tune here at 1'43".

Another great performance of hers:

Devin Townsend

I was at his concert last Thursday, where he presented his 10 year project, 'The Moth', which is a sort of rock/metal opera. It was a ridiculously good vocal performance, combined with a 70-head orchestra and 60-head choir. Can't wait for it to be released as an album.
