Why do people complain about Bob?

I entered my level 32 Bob into the FGT championship the other day and was wondering what people are o about with their Bob's being useless? He was brilliant at Fuji, amazing at Monaco and finished 2nd after a spin, amazing at Indy, breathtaking at Nurburgring (won by half a lap), and then at Monza he should of taken the championship but I started him on Wets, then he pittted and I selected hards, then he wanted to pit to Inters so then he had to fight from one lap down for the race and was in 3rd with a lap to go but then he pitted and ended up 10th (this was the only pathetic thing he ever did) and then Suzuka was wet, they started on hards, I started on wets which was perfect as I won by half a lap in a race which took 1 hour 15mins.

He took the championship by storm so I'm just wondering why people are complaining about Bob being so pathetic and useless as mine is clearly very fast. Could it be that his outfit is red and white and his name his K.Kobayashi which makes him a great overtaker by default. He also had a great strategy in the full dry races where he ran very fast for the first ten laps, then conserves fuel and tires, then floors it after his stop. He did that by himself.

Mine is useless, I can have him in car's that DOUBLE the competition and he will still lose.

mostly he just doesn't know how to corner, or handle. I always have him in the best tires he can have for whatever competition he is in; and I always do a weight reduction to every car (at least stage 1).

I can't say my Bobs have never let me down, but they have been way far from useless. My highest level Bob, with cars of same power of competition, and with a little management just won't lose any race.

Out of my six drivers (I haven't retired any yet), only three of them are actually well-rounded fast drivers. I'm still not sure what factors are involved in cultivating a good B-Spec driver exactly, but I will say that I've found "training" them actually works.

For example with the FGT Championship I tried a test run on Cote d'Azure with a Bob who had never driven in an FGT before, nor had he ever raced on that track. He was terrible! Granted, this was early in his career, but he couldn't keep the car under control through such a technical circuit, couldn't pass, and generally made tons of driver errors.

I then took that same Bob through a series of other single races with the FGT (not in the FGT Champ.) just to get him used to the car. Then I "taught" him the track, doing single races with him on Cote d'Azur, manually inputting when he should keep his speed down, when to pass, etc.
In short, it worked. He got steadily better with each race.
When I finally did enter him in the FGT Champ., He kicked serious *** and took it by storm!

Overall I've seen a big difference in driving ability/speed between the Bob's I trained and the ones I just let race on their own with no input from me.

In normal cars bob is useless. But as soon as you put him in a FGT he turns into Michael Schumacher. He is insanely quick and very consistent. The only thing he isn't good at is strategy. He seems to like to drive with slicks in the rain, which is really annoying because you have to cancel his pit request every single lap and if you don't he will be all over the place.

Took me several tries to win gold in the Nascar daytona in a-spec, chucked McFuchs (my Bob) in the exact same car after an oil change, same race, walked away, he won by over 6 seconds.

I have two Bob's, one good and one useless, strangely, the usless Bob's name is S. Loeb, and the good one is A. Mari (I found it humorous, you have to be from New Zealand to understand) But I'm happy with A. Mari, he is very good considering he's only level 8

My Bobs rock. They can drive some cars better than I can!
They did start of a bit crappy when they were low level but now that they're 39-40 they can win anything without any assistance.

I think it has to do with the cars you put them in. When Z.Sharp (just thought it was cool) started, he did some insanely stupid things with weak cars, including a particularly embarrasing bit where a 300 BHP car kept him, with his 700 BHP Lambo Murc SV, behind him for 2 LAPS (RAGE). When you throw them into F1 cars, they instantly gain the skills of an F1 driver, and become super-geniuses. Very convenient if you ask me, learning expert driving in 10 seconds :D

Yah Bob is a bit of a dough-head, but I got thinking about it... ... and Bob is really what we call in Sports Car Racing a "Gentleman Driver". You know a privateer team led by an enthusiast (with lots of money) who wants to go racing and hires a hot shoe driver so they are competitive.

Bobs are innocent. It's PD's lame programming that's got the bobs doing stupid things. Do a 24 hour race on the Ring on a day when you are home for the whole day, and sit back and watch the foolishness PD's programming causes your bobs to do. On every Enduro that has dynamic weather you will see chaos. when the rain stops PD programs all drivers into the pits to put on RM's while track is still wet. But our bobs are programmed to put on RH's. If you ever wonder why cars look like demolition derby victims when you come this is why. They all spend 3-5 laps flying into each other and off the track at all ranges of speed. You will understand why you are down 2-3 laps and are on RH's losing even more time.

Sigh. I don't complain about bobs ever since I saw this foolishness over and over from PD. Point your frustration where it belongs.
