Miley is a man? Or was that his about Beiber from the thread you quoted, cause sir, Miley has given the world plenty of nude magazine photos that make her father cringe to prove she is a female.

What's with all these threads? Next you should make a thread saying why does no one like gt6 anymore? People have different opinions not everyone likes the same person. I don't know why people hate Miley cyris she's a good singer so there for i like her and your comment is invalid :P.

No thats a typo. Fixed.

It also make Arnold Schwarzenegger cringe too.

I'd say in this case, unlike Beiber, the bigger problem is Disney and for some reason making girls famous that have plenty of times gone on to try and break that mold and be overly sexualized or prove they are. And thus make a bad image for the fans that once looked up to them, yes it is there right, but it does get highly annoying when the best someone can do is simulate screwing a foam finger on stage.

There are plenty of those, it's called the GT6 sub-forum, titles vary ;)

The GT6 thread has already exists.

It just an updated cringe selection of celebrities since the Bieber has less coverage now :P

Miley Cyrus is basically Natalie Portman in Black Swan.

In the film, Portman's character, Nina, spends all of her life striving for this idea of perfection and she rejects everything that doesn't conform to that. But the idea of perfection is being put forward by someone else - her mother (who, it's implied, is living viscerally through her) - and consequently, she can't deal with deal with her burgeoning sexual maturity, and so it manifests in destructive ways.

Sound familiar? It's pretty much what Miley Cyrus went through. From an early age, she was put in the spotlight and did not have a normal childhood. As she got older, she started losing touch with her demographic, and started channeling all of her unaddressed issues through her music. It's Black Swan, but unlike the film, her Mila Kunis doppelganger won out (though the film implies that both Nina and her doppelganger have to die to merge together and live in harmony as a normal person).

Yeah I've seen the movie (a favorite of my spouse), and can somewhat see the comparison, but the difference is Miley was handed the role of probably any Disney kid's lifetime and won it. Nina wasn't guaranteed anything and to this affect felt this doppelganger like self would take over cause she wasn't perfect enough to obtain the role of her life time. She could have easily walked away and changed her image and still been less obtuse about it. Though I feel at times she wants to be the Madonna of this generation. And really the pop stars of this generation seem to all fight it out by being nude or doing sexual antics cause they can't be had by everyday people that listen to them.

Also I feel it's due to be spoiled, having conflicting parents that aren't together. One that is a bit grass roots and somewhat restrictive, and the other telling her to wave her freak flag. Now this doesn't explaining the many other Disney starlets that went on the same route as Miley or close to it.

Some people dislike Miley because pop princesses are not allowed to have an opinion on their own sexuality, image and music, apparently.

I don't care, either way. Don't like that she promotes mind-altering drugs, but then, I feel that that's a personal choice, and I'm not against the legalization of such substances for adult use. Funnily enough, Miley has never had to go to rehab like some of her more straightlaced Disney Pop Princess Peers.

And I don't see her being as hated as Bieber. Because, let's face it... Everyone hates Bieber because he's a colossal jerk.

Insufferable, try hard persona that (to me) screams fakeness and just a general 'look at me I'm so random!1!1!!!!' attitude.

Manufactured, engineered soul-less 'music' designed purely to sell.

@niky To be fair, Biebs is more of "love or hate it" in the early days mostly because of his high voice and rabid fanbase.

Not sure though but Miley had started the downfall. I mean just compared to Taylor Swift or some others.

When I was a little younger (and Hannah Montana was the Disney Channel show of choice) I absolutely loved Miley Cyrus. I knew a few of her dads songs from before, but then Miley came along and she was my age and what not and she generally seemed pretty nice on and off stage.

Now I know she still has a nice side of her (charity and what not) but I cannot bear to watch her on stage or listen to any of her new songs. Do I hate her? Nope, but I really really wish that what people class as the "Old Miley" was back, with the long hair and cute peace sign etc.
I really don't like the whole "I can do what I want and be sexual on stage and nobody can say anything". I think she has forgotten the generation of preteen girls who looked up to her and now think that doing all that is quite okay...
But that is just my opinion...

Though I feel at times she wants to be the Madonna of this generation.
I think I speak for everyone when I say nobody wants to see a fifty year-old Miley Cyrus gallivanting around like a woman half her age in roller skates and leotard.

And really the pop stars of this generation seem to all fight it out by being nude or doing sexual antics cause they can't be had by everyday people that listen to them.
This goes back to what I was saying about Katy Perry in the Bieber thread - that she's the result of a carefully-constructed formula pit together by studio executives.

Miley Cyrus' unique blend of crazy probably stems from both her Disney starlet status and parental dysfunction.

While I appreciate an artist with real raw talent as much as anyone, I don't hold it against anyone, Miley included, for manufacturing a successful career with average talent. That's the American way after all, you don't need to be super smart or super talented to be successful, you only need to figure out what people want and give it to them. Much of the American pop music business is based upon marginal talent that happens to be pretty or sexy or have a "persona" or a hook of some kind but most of all, "likeable" in some way or to a certain segment of the market. I think she's done a fantastic job transitioning from child star to adult pop star, a step few make with any success, and rarely with the level of success Miley has had.

When your dad looks like this, how can you not end up a little messed up?

Because she's a mess. Lol

She actively seeks out the most irritating way to behave, and then does that.

People are allowed to form a career by being different of course. But she is as someone said in this thread - insufferable.

And she has no real talent to redeem this behaviour with.

She also sums up all that's wrong with celebrity in our current society. 30/40 years ago, she'd be laughed at, ignored and nobody would hear from her again.

Ahhh, she really peeves me lol. Of course some of that is opinion. But opinions and facts can overlap.

Sometimes I wonder if some of you guys know anything about show business. Acting like a buffoon is exactly what you do if you have marginal talent, it takes the focus off your abilities and onto your behaviour. People flock to your concerts just to see if you'll implode. 30 or 40 years ago you say? Meet Charo, who made an entire career out of a funny accent, big boobs and one punch line - coochy coochy.

Also, in the entertainment industry, any publicity is good publicity (including illegal activity: look at Martha Stewart for reference- she's still very famous and successful today after she got out of jail for insider trading). When people talk about a person, their name gets out there, and people actually want to find out why it is out there and what they do. As for Miley, I can't stand her music, but I solve that problem by simply not listening to her songs and not watching her videos.

Yup,

As bad as that was, it was 'entertainment' and in no way antagonistic.

I fully understand your point, however
Cyrus, is just doing it to p**s people off, and it's working. Charo was a buffoon, but it was all a bit of fun.

Talking personally for a second, I don't feel Cyrus is a bit of fun or entertainment. It's not even stupid, or a joke.

It's the purest form of crap.

I'm not so sure about this. Sure, the sex symbols of those eras weren't as wild in today's terms, but in their respective eras they became famous for doing pretty much the same thing and that is pushing the boundaries of what we see as acceptable behavior for a young female.

I have a feeling that the older icons will be back. A lot of today's outlandish artists drew inspiration from Madonna. When this generation (Lady Gaga, Miley, etc.) gets old and future generations say that they drew inspiration from these girls, younger girls will soon research our current stars which in turn would probably lead to them researching their idols.

I just wanna' be clear. This is nothing to do with her being a female/girl/woman/lady lol.

I am just as capable of disliking a male/boy/man/gentleman when they are being irritating.

Just wanted to distance myself there before someone got the idea that's what my problem with Cyrus is. Lol

Why does nobody on GTPlanet like Miley Cyrus? The answer is simple: With a website where good grammar and mature behavior is approved, and where poor grasp of the English language and excessive use of profanity is frowned upon, it's no wonder even an idiot like myself knows better.

Miley Cyrus is basically a product of the early to mid 2010's who is recieving much more media exposure than she deserves. In a couple of years or less from now, she'll be more outdated than those boy bands from the late 1990's that shouldn't of even been turned over for a proper burial when the 21st century began. I don't have a problem with Cyrus' "music", since it's completely avoidable, so there's that.

New Kids on the Block are embarking on a stadium tour. You can buy a "Top Shelf VIP Package" for the low, low price of $995 and no, there is no decimal point missing.

It's called "show business" and not "talent business" for a reason. Talent only gets you in the door. Show takes you to the top. Miley and hundreds of others of her generation, have found a way to tap into the public consciousness where looks and outrageous behaviour and the smart use of social media make you a star regardless of "talent". Kim K. et. al. have made $hundreds of millions because they are related to a famous lawyer and because T and A. Good for her. If I had it, I'd do the same thing. I wouldn't try to embark on a singing career or do something more honourable with whatever true talent I had:lol:

I suppose that how the music industry works these days eh? Adapt and/or create trends, get support from hot shots, and cause controversy. That's how business works I guess, and I'll admit it works damn well.

On the contrary, trends change and sooner or later you'll probably see Ms.Cyrus go on those abysmal reality shows. Or she'll abuse illegal substances just so the guy looking like Translator-san bothers to take a peek. Again, she's just a product of the 2010's. Miley might think she's the big cheese now, but I bet you another "artist" that did something ridiculous to go mainstream will clip off Cyrus' wings.

Im just going to put this here, Mileys net worth has exploded since she lost her "good girl" attitude, chances are this is a manufactured brake down of character.
