The OP seems to join TGTT/Indy Drag lobbies a bit too much.*
Not all DS3 users are complete idiots.

Im proud to use a DS3, and I drive pretty comfortably with it, with or without aids.
I prefer to use aids, I nearly always have TCS on 5 and ABS on 1, but that doesnt really matter. Besides, its just what I feel comfortable with.
Anywho, join a League. It's your best bet for "Elitist" racers.

*By this I mean the usual 'kids' who go haywire in X2010's, FGT's, Veyron's etc.

TCS, SRF, ASM and ABS exist in the real world, and some of these aids are even installed and used in some real-world racing cars. Gran Turismo 5 is trying to be a driving/racing simulation so it's normal for people to use these aids. Not a big deal. Use them if you like, don't use them if you don't like. Have fun!

Please tell us which category allows SRF . On a more serious note, come back to us when you can name one that allows TCS, ASM (ESC) and ABS. There isn't one, and there isn't a single one that allows ESC alone.

Also there aren't many that allow TCS and/or ABS. Most probably you won't find one considering you think SRF exists and that ESC is used in a racing car.
To put it more difficult, you can't name the obvious ones that use traction control, which are le mans and few GT cars.

ABS in real life works way differently than how it works in GT5. Might save your life if you need to brake hard and dodge an object, but it doesn't mean perfect vehicle stability with magical grip nor being able to fully step on it at all times. To me anyone who plays with ABS on is not playing GT5. That's how badly it is made on the game.
Another thing DS3 users don't get is they play with some extra hidden assists.

It's not "elitism", but it's a whole different game when played without voluntary assists because the game overexaggerates those, and with the proper peripheral because of hidden assists and ...it's a wheel with pedals. Also Racing tires in general provide unreal grip, particularly RS (just compare cornering speeds), so it's better to stick with the stock ones or fitting worse than those, which in lots of cases means a higher fidelity to real life and that's why those are used on GT academy events.

On topic: search lobbies that have SRF turned off, or make your own. Also search for shuffle races because you can't change tires on those.

Junior Member, thank you very much, get it right! :sly:

Btw, I love your COTW reviews, looking forward to the new one coming up. Keep up the good work! 👍

Thanks. Lotus is up now, next car announced on Friday.

Oh, and I use a DS3.

There are real drivers that use TCS while racing, btw. Le Mans, for one. I don't see why that doesn't count.

Maybe you have trouble because you aren't joining GTP series and are playing with crash junkie 12-year-olds.

I also race with DS3 racers that are faster than wheel racers. Plenty of them, in fact. GT5 isn't a sim (not fully, even if it calls itself that) so it doesn't require the use of wheel like PC sims do. The controller is more than doable.
