Why not?

Don't have 1
Just a question that I had been thinking about. Ford has made some terrific cars, and Mustangs are one of ther many greats(including the escorts) so why don't they put some of the great mustangs in the game? Like the 93 Cobra R or the 2000 Cobra R. They are both track great platforms so why ignore them? I also figured it might have been that they aren't that popular. What do u guys think?

Since, there are dozens of Mustangs and NFS only puts about at most a hundred cars in each of their games to not crowd the eager choosing spree. It is not like GT5 with thousands of cars. They only choose certain cars to have featured in their games. Having ten Mustangs out of a hundred other cars is a little too much don't you think?

Exactly. S2U obviously focuses on diversity when it comes to the car selection, so you're not going to see dozens of what's basically the same car. It's suprising enough to see that there are three generations of Nissan's S-chassis available... Then again, those are used as platforms far more frequently than a Mustang (the drift crowd sees to that by itself :sly:).

Actually I didn't want like ten or twelve Mustangs. I just would have liked to have seen as many as Forza 2 or GT4 had. Which was like 3 or 4, seeing as they had so many Nissans. BTW Mustangs are a pretty popular platform for circuit racing here in the States. There is a Mustang in just about all of our grassroots circuit racing series. Like the SCCA, and NASA. And most of the time its a mustang that wins. If u don't know what I'm talkin about check out on youtube. Be sure to type in NASA Unlimited class. Its pretty much the same as racing in the works class. And the most popular platforms are the two I listed above, because they are lighter than the S197s.

they have a decent amount of cars. buit limited sapce so they want to be diverse. I want more mustangs also but it doesent make any senseto have more unless maybe with DLC. Sure there seem to be alot of nissan but that seems to be the case with every game and with good reason.

I would like more Audis, BMWs and Mercs and perhaps some extra Maseratis, but I realise that SMS are going for a balanced, varied car selection that satisfies the global racing community.

And I feel they're doing an excellent job - so I'm not complaining. I would definitely not welcome more US-only cars without them also balancing it out with some European power saloons and coupes or some Japanese powerhouses.

there are 3 Mustangs in Shift 2:

Monster Energy/Falken Tire Ford Mustang GT
Need For Speed SHELBY Terlingua Ford Mustang
Team Need For Speed Ford Mustang RTR-X

they all are prize cars.

Plus the old GT500 & the new GT500.

I rather they put in a 1st gen Camaro first.

Why a Mustang or Camaro? Why not the Maserati Biturbo or the DeTomaso Pantera?

In the end everybody has his/her own favorites and it's all incredibly subjective. It's all up to SMS/EA what they think fits the game and can arrange (license-wise).

There are 2 Shelby GTs and 3 custom prize cars. That's 5 total Mustangs, which I expect is probably the most of any other kind of car in the game.

As others have said, everyone want more of their favorite car, but Shift 2 is reasonably balanced as it stands.

And looking at Time Attack series' all over the world, it seems that there are many cars that seem to be more popular platforms to the rest of the world :sly:

Actually, the only thing that somewhat boggles my mind is why they didn't add the NA Miata instead of the newer model. NA Spec Miata, that's as grassroots as it gets, but whatever...

You all make valid points. There are some other cars I would have liked to have seen in the game to other than Mustangs. And i think their car selection is preety cool also. I just hate the 2010 Gt500 thats all. Would much rather have a SN-95 Cobra, I just don't think it gets the respect it deserves because so many people don't know about it. I'm not complainig either, I just wanted u guys opinion on the subject. Although JeffKill could have kept that comment to himself, nobody likes a hater. I just hope they put it in the next game.

then why are you posting in this thread move on!

At least my post was on topic with the thread, and not a lame attempt at flaming someone for their opinion. 👎

Although JeffKill could have kept that comment to himself, nobody likes a hater. I just hope they put it in the next game.

Who said I hate Mustangs?? Why just assume this because I stated that I would rather see other cars?

Sorry dude, the way u worded the sentence sounded a bit personal. Sorry for misjudging u then. I can usually read people alot better.:dunce:

No problem. For what it's worth, the Shelby GT500 is actually one of my favorite cars in the game at the moment. 👍

Im usually a Japan Tuner type of guy, but the Shelby GT500 makes drifting its ***** in this game. Seriosuly, easy with that beast.

I have to say I was surprised that there was a standard Mustang platform to go with but what there is is fine in my eyes.

The Mustang i would like to see is the 2010 ROUSH 427R Mustang. It's got the Power and Suspension to be a pretty good road machine.
