Hi there im pretty new to Gran Turismo and im wonder if you will be able to get your save data from GT5 and bring it to GT6, Please and Thank you

I hope that is not true. It would be depressing to be a new player to the series and see everyone in an online lobby driving high end supercars while you're stuck in your Sunday Cup Miata.

Well then you'd hate me going off that because after only playing GT5 for a few days, I was immediately able to get supercars and even apparently was one of the very few that got the Peugeot 908 after only a week of playing and that was without any assists.

Well, it didn't take too long in GT5 to get a resonable garage if you're into the online play thing.

I think the main point is though, it'd take away the 'process' that people who have played the series enjoy - that of earning your way through. Having said that, quite a lot of people duped cars in GT5, so I'm sure they'd be happy...

How is that any different from what anyone purchasing the game 1 month + after release will experience?

Then let everyone start with all cars. Also, who would enter a supercar room with a Miata? And what happened to the recommended car list?

I like starting from zero too. And online is something I start using after a year or so. Even if I decide to go online earlier, I'm sure there will be rooms with people that have started from scratch.

GT has never had this option other than in GT4 with the 10,000Cr transfer, so I don't think they will implement it. If they do, then good for the ones that want it. I will choose not to have anything transferred.

A precedent has been set for rewarding players who have a game save from the previous title with some extra cash, but that's about it. Transferring credit balances and a full garage is very unlikely.

We have always had something from same console GT's but I tended to ignore it until the 2nd time around.

It would be cool to have the option. It would be pretty interesting if they let you pick 3 cars from your GT5 garage. That would get people talking, for sure.

The problem with GT5 is that you become financially independent too soon, and the seasonal events don't help the situation either. If I was to make another account for GT5 and keep playing the game until I become the same level of financial independence as on my main account, I could do that within 2 days of grinding the seasonals.

I really hope that GT6 differs and that it takes a reasonable amount of time where you reach the point where you can do almost anything you want because you have so much credits. Personally I would like to start from scratch, and even if there was an option to import some of your credits from your GT5 (like GT3 to GT4) save, I would turn this opportunity down.

In effect with the pre-order bonus quite a few people will have a lot of disposable credits looking back at them.

GT5:P didn't allow any transfer - it was the only one of the same console games that didn't, as far as I know.

Plus I don't think with the standard upgrades, that the car files from GT5 will take kindly to being transferred to GT6.

If it were possible to transfer saves from 5 to 6 I'd do it in a heartbeat and completely skip license tests, A spec, Special Events and anything else I have no interest in and get onto what I enjoy about the game, buying and tuning cars and racing online. The rest of the game holds no interest for me. Forcing people to slog through AI races, some with prizes less than the cost of a single upgrade, makes no sense in this day and age. Giving people options and paths for how to play makes much more sense.

No, it's a video game, it's meant to have some level of achievement.

Wanting to copy your GT5 save is such a lazy attitude.

I thought the point of video games was fun.

Wanting to copy your GT5 save is such a lazy attitude.

Lazy how? Because some people don't want to waste their time racing AI, when they could be enjoying themselves by racing online and simply driving their favorite cars? It's a game, not a job.

It's nice that you'll enjoy playing through all those races and grinding up your garage. That option will always be there, even if you have played GT5. The transfer shouldn't be automatic if people do want to follow the progression from the start.

But some of us have done it five times before, and it's starting to wear thin. As MuoNiuLa said, we just want to get to the bits that are fun for us. Doing the Clubman Cup for the sixth time is not fun for me. I want to race online with friends, not grind for ten hours so that I can afford a car (or worse, get to the experience level to unlock the car) to race the series I want to.

If you eventually graduate highschool, you could end up as lazy as me, with a business to run, a family to raise, an elderly parent to take care of, a house to maintain and improve, a social life, community obligations and more. Then you'll be lucky enough to join the ranks of us lazy people who want to maximize the enjoyment we get from a video game by having the option to avoid things we find a complete waste of time.
