Will GT6 be able to transfer your save data from GT5

I seriously doubt there will be any significant "en masse" transfer of garage data from GT5 to GT6. At most I could see a savegame check giving us a small credits boost (maybe 100k), a passing mark for license tests and "maybe" some of the special / unique DLC cars (like the original pre-orders cars, Edge Camaro, Academy GT-R, etc).

I've started from scratch 5 times before, well actually more than that since I restarted and played through GT2 and GT4 multiple times, and I intend to start from scratch again.

I do hope they do put in some kind of option for those that want to bypass the entire offline portion of the game (a sandbox mode where everything is free, full garage transfer or whatever) and go straight to online racing, but I don't expect it'll happen or at least not to the desired degree.

They should at least let you transfer cars to GT6, but only if your GT6 a-spec level is high enough.

Sounds good. But I surely hope A-Spec is the only mode we'll see in GT6. A bit off-topic, but I'm glad we haven't seen anything that suggests B-Spec... yet.

Why are all of you overlooking the new physics? You probably couldn't actually transfer the cars. If there was some type of system like this then gt6 would have to read the gt5 file and subsequently award you with cars from it's data. And, what if there are different upgrades? You would then only get the car.

Also, for anyone that preorders the game the 20 car list will be available, as well as the upgrades (which makes me wonder if there is a new upgrade/ unlock system.

I personally enjoy the playthrough. Although, when I first got gt5, I didn't have it connected to the internet for a couple months, and didn't know about the ucd guide (link in my sig). Therefore, I did so many races and had no credits to spend on cars that don't come through often.

I will enjoy having those 20 cars for the preorder, especially the new Viper.

Aaand, how about this:
-"Pre-ordering simply gives you access to all of these cars from the start and makes their “special visual & performance enhancements” available to you."
-"Finally, an interesting special promotion with Amazon.com has been announced: pre-order the game with the online retailer, and you’ll receive a special bonus of 1 million free in-game credits to help you get started."

I don't see what the new physics have to do with anything. Every car in GT5 will be in GT6, will they not? And given that a GT5 save file is only a few thousand KBs in size, I'm pretty sure the file simply keeps track of what cars you have in the game. Why wouldn't GT6 be able to read it and give you the cars that match what's in the GT5 data? You have a point about the upgrades, but I don't think most people would have a problem with that, especially if you can most likely earn money through online races.

I recently restarted GT2, and I love the way GT games play out in the early stages. I'd love it if GT6 took that and made it stricter, so that you're effectively massaging a car into a race machine over several "seasons" - you may need to be able to have several of these on the go at once.
Obviously, to counteract that, they'd need to separate it out and have another mode that is less static, more gamey. I quite liked TT's challenges to obtain new bikes; call it Pokémon mode. Then you'd need a full sandbox mode, too (online and offline).

Fingers crossed...

I probably wouldn't use any extra credits or what have you, for the traditional "GT mode" (or my "hardcore" version), anyway. I quite liked GT2's licence transfer (I think it was B and A only, leaving I-C, I-B and I-A to do), though - although I eventually went back and did them anyway.

It would be great if GT6 recognizes a GT5 savegame and gives something special, an expensive car or something that helps to get the game started, nothing too special...

Like Boarderlands 2 gave something for having played Boarderlands (1).

Or like in GT3-> GT4 you could import a max. of 100,000 credits. That would be nice.
