Will Hoy Wiki.

There are a number of BTCC fans on this forum, and I thought I'd raise some attention to Will Hoy. The first ever champion of the immensely popular supertouring category in 1991, Will was a popular character within the BTCC paddock and fandom. Whenever someone is reeling off the list of names from 'the glory days' of the BTCC such as John Cleland, Tim Harvey, Steve Soper, Kieth Odor, Andy Rouse and so on, Will Hoy's name is never far from that list.

A popular win in the unfancied Mondeo in 1998 was the last of his successes before entering semi-retirement; a second half season campaign in the Arena Motorsports Independant Laguna in 1999 saw Will outclass the group, even runaway champion Matt Neal.

Commentary beckond in 2002, before Will suffered a brain tumor in the latter half of the year, and sadly died on 19th December 2002, aged just 50.

9 years on, he is still sadly missed.
