First off, I am sorry if this thread already exists, if so my bad.

You know how for GT5 they made:
  • Normal Edition
  • Collectors Edition
  • Signature Edition
I am wordering if they will do the same for GT6 (probably yes), but has it been made official yet?

Probably. But then again, GTA V doesn't seem to be getting one, so maybe GT5 just got one because it was the first of the generation.

If they do I want signature edition! But will buy the normal one first, wait for the signature edition to go on sale and then swoop in.

Same here, that's what I did last time around, I got the signature edition braand new for $40.

What does GTA have to do with this? It had diffrent editions? I did not know that...

You really want to say that you got the signature edition for 1/6 of the actual price? Even the collectors edition isn't avaible for less than 100$ nowadays, signature editions sell even at over 200$.

I am not trying to convince anyone here, but it's true, I bought mine in a store where they were way over stock, and got it for $40 new. Now before posting your reply, ask yourself the following question: What would I possibly have to gain by lying to you guys?

Surely you get something special if you pre ordered it, when your pre ordered GT5 you got those chrome line cars.

Key word being nowadays. There is always a period of time 6 months to a year after the game comes out that collector's versions of games are worth a fraction of their costs because retailers are trying to get rid of them when they inevitably haven't sold out before they go back up in price because they are now all privately owned. I remember that Halo 3 pack being $60 new at Gamestop for a few months as they tried to get rid of it, and these days you can't even get the helmet alone for that much.

Have you ever seen a signature edition for 40$? I never saw it for under 200.

I was curious, that's it. Did I say you're a liar?

I don't live in Europe, so I've never seen a Signature Edition anyway. It still doesn't mean that the prices as they are now after all copies of the games are in private hands and they are desirable again are the same as they could have been a year and a half ago when retailers still had a few copies that they wanted gone and the edition was not in high demand. For example, I also remember a very short period of time in November last year where unopened copies of the Forza 4's collector edition (meaning with all of the DLC unused) were available for $35 online, and I wasn't able to take advantage of it due to a credit card situation so they soon shot way back up to $100+ for unopened ones by the time I had gotten everything sorted out.

Nah man, but I do have one question though... Wasn't the signature edition only sold in Europe? My cousin bought it for me in May 2011 in France for 40€ (my bad, yes it was in €).
Anyways I didn't mean to get off on the wrong foot...

The signature edition came down to £40 for a few days in the UK. I paid a little bit more than that probably closer to £60 for mine.

Sure, this happens. I don't questionate that.

But believe me, if I had ever seen a signature edition for under 100chf (which is about the same as $, no worries my math is good enough to convert currencies) I'd have bought it in no time. That's why I was that distrustful about the 40$.

I live in europe. 40euro is more than 40$ but still ridiculously low. Never seen this here. I don't live in France, but I usually see prices from our neighboors (france is next to us), that's why I wondered.
The regular GT5 version still gets sold for 30euro in france btw - http://www.amazon.fr/Gran-Turismo-5-compatible-3D/dp/B002KMIELS. Of course, amazon doesn't have the absolute lowest prices, but it's not too bad.

Damn lucky buy in this case.

Pre Ordering gave you Stealth Cars. Chromeline's came with Collector's and Signature Editions only.

If there are different versions, and if I am getting GT6, it'll just be the regular version this time around. Other games in the genre have given me more for the extra outlay of the special editions - such as actually unique cars, not just slightly more powerful versions of ones in the game, in garish paint jobs - and while the extra non-game stuff in my GT5 CE was nice enough, I've only flipped through the book once, and the car sits on the shelf. I don't need those sorts of things again, is what I'm saying 👍

Same here, the Collector's Edition was... barely justifiable. I actually use the key ring, the car sits on the shelf as well, and the book is damn-near useless.

Not to mention starting the game with the Chromeline's, Stealth McLaren and Logano NASCAR really made the already short and boring A-Spec even shorter and more boring for me. To think some people actually want to transfer their GT5 Garages to GT6...

The key ring became my default, so that's the most-used item of the lot, including the game itself :P.

[slightly off-topic]I'll want to too if we're stuck with the terrible idea of the vast majority of the cars unavailable to drive in even Arcade Mode, and their availability based on, essentially, luck.[/slightly off-topic]
