I haven't seen any discussion about this, but I apologize if there is one. Searching for "demo" only shows results about the TGS demo and stuff like that.

However, is it likely that we will get a GT5 demo to download from the PSN? If we will; when? No one knows, but let's speculate just like in all the other threads :)

GT5p got a demo in Japan so there is hope although it may be Japan only again like Prolouges.
You are right. I did not remember that the Prologue demo was Japan exclusive. Probably because I played it on my PS3 here in Sweden. It's not hard to create a Japanese account on the PSN and since GT is about driving it is not a huge problem if we can't understand what the text in the game means.

We know that a demo exists, so the question is if PD/Sony wants us to have it or not.

Difficult to call. Although we had GT HD and a demo of Prologue on the SCEJ store, I believe these were released to keed die-hard GT fans happy (or happier). With the full game getting ever closer, perhaps Sony / PD do not see a need to keep the fans satisfied. We know it is close and they know that.

I think they will release a demo post-release and not for the fans but to attract new customers. The GT fans will certainly know about the game and pick it up on release (I safely assume here that GT5 will be up to scratch :) ).

They should do it. It certainly helps the sales. And a big game like GT5, they should do whatever they can to get the exposure.

I am really looking forward to the demo is there is one just to try out the lamborghini, 458, SLS anf the FT-86.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and my Japanese account on stand-by.

same here. I'm dieing to have a new racing sim, and my Logitech wheel don't work on the XBox. Sorry Forza, but I'm not spending $100 dollars on a wheel for the xbox. will just have to stick with GTPSP.

GT5 better have a demo, I know many of my friends are undecided and disappointed with prologue. So if PD actually improved so much, they should proof it then. 👍

Oh, and they better have realistic track car interaction, one of the single most important critical issues for people who's holy grale is not Gran Turismo.

;) ;) :)

Yes, I think there will be a demo. They have done this demo, so now it only depends of de decision from PD and Sony.
But if we look the GTPlanet news:

https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-5-playable-in-uk-shopping-mall-tour/

It says: "the staff on-hand confirmed a demo of the racing title will be there “soon”." Ok, I know, It does not come from a official source, but again, they have the demo done, so really could come a demo on PSN.

They are talking about the demo that they have had at the conferences being playable at these malls, not a demo for the PSN.

I think so, most major games(especially 1st party games) have them. Plus games the magnitude of GT5 normally get one.

They have a demo they have been using at exhibitions & I am sure it would do just fine for most people to try. Plus as I understand it, it could be released as it is, so wouldn't take additional development time. It could come down to us making enough noise to get it.

It's highly doubtful that we will see any kind of Demo for GT5... At least IMO...

I remember the GT5 Prologue Demo they released on the JPN PSN Store for around a month during Xmas. The games physics are completely different than even Spec 1 of Prologue. If you've only played Spec 3 of the game maybe you should get the orginal JPN Release and try it out. Of course if you have some spare dosh lol. I'm guessing there will be a Demo.

You see the problem here is, if they release a playable demo with Tokyo R246 and a selection of cars, and not implement the same things into prologue as a spec update, then people who paid for prologue are going to lose out.

And releasing a new update for prologue isn't really going to increase sales, as noone is going to buy prologue if they havn't already, just for a new tracks and some cars. The main thing the demo would be showing anyway is the new physics and damage, and according to Kaz they are still working on them.

Maybe just before release they could release a demo of the final build, but not the TGS demo as it is a very much unfinished game. If they released that demo as a spec update for prologue i would be very happy, but to release a new car and tracks for download and not make them compatible with prologue would be a mistake.

I'd rather not get the TGS build, it will make me disappointed with the damage so far.
