Hey guys sorry for being off topic here , but would these specs for a gaming computer be ok to run a good racing sim , i only ask because i haven't got a clue . Many thanks .

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 (P4) HT 3.2=2 x 3.2GHz
Memory: 4GB (4,096MB) DDR2 RAM
Hard Drive: Fast 500GB SATA Drive
Optical Drive: CD/DVD drive
Graphics Card: New/Latest AMD/ATi 1GB HD5450 Gaming/Professional Graphics

The GPU is not that fast, but it should be able to run any PC sim at a fairly decent resolution and amount of detail.

It will run most existing games OK (LFS, SimBin's games, etc) but for Shift/2, rFactor 2, CARS, etc, and other newer titles coming, the lack of true multiple cores (only hyperthreading) is going to hurt things somewhat. And the GPU is really not great, even some directx9 games are going to be an issue to go above 30fps consistently.

Definately not. I like racing games not Donkey Derby Ramming games.

This make no sense. IF you are trying to sayS2 is all about ramming then I think you are playing it wrong.

If you are saying the ramming is online, then welcome to online. Happens in every game until you find like minded people to race with.

If you are saying the AI rams you in offline, then you are just used to AI on "rails" that never change.

Only annoying problem that occurs with the AI is the magnet effect.

Xbox BTW.

I don't mind a bit of rubbing or even if the AI gets aggressive sometimes.
Feels more human that way and keeps you on your toes.

The magnet stops you from correcting your flight patch lol. Feels as though your front wheels are off the ground and no control of your destiney.

Fix that and all is great as far as I'm concerned.

That and the freezing... are the two things that made me stop playing the game... Im currently playing Ferrari race experience (PSN exclusive) and its quite enjoyable (its mostly ferrari challenge with all the dlcs and with SCC Graphics and AI with a few tweeks) nice livery editor by the way... much better than Shift in that department ( two bad there are so few aftermarket stickers)

Got that too mate. Like the Force feedback on that game.

I changed my PS3 shift for the xbox version after Raudi's recommendation.
No freezes. Just random FF drop outs.

If its good. Sure.

I could care less who makes it, or who publishes it. If its a decent game then yeah..Ill buy.

Me too. Shift 2 was much better after handling patch. I wonder if the SMS title. C.A.R.S. will be their realistic sim game. And I am waiting for Grid 2 also from CodeMasters.

Not a fan of Grid - too Drifty. Despite a knowledge of how to drift I can't do it. But, yeah, looking forward to Shift 3. If it improves on 1 and 2 then it's a no-brainer for me. If only for the incredible cockpit view.

but there will be a shift 3 or not? i would buy it just for cockpit view and track list just like shift 2

Highly doubt of a shift 3 release but hey, EA for me is dead. I may reconsider IF Shift 3 really comes out (not waiting though) AND its a proven game after 1st month.

Seems it is going to be a game without wheel support. I have never played a racing game with a controller, so I will skip this one.

The graphics is amazingly good though 👍

Yep....the day I start driving my car down the road steering with my

thumb...:boggled:
