If you don't select rain tyres they will want to pit every lap until you put wets on, so you are best off just chosing rain tyres.

Yeah my "Bob" E.Goh answered it for me. I sent him out on Intermediates and he came in after 2 laps...

My first post here, been reading the forum for a while.

The reason for this is because for some reason offline is set to"LOW" for edge of track/wet track grip.
If you host online games alot the host has an option to set it to "REAL" and i can pretty much tell you that race on a wet track when its set to REAL with slick tires..... is not a good idea :)

Yea you have to change the grip settings from from low to real or else your going to keep having this "glitch" I personally never had this problem cause i always have it set to real. So the rain tires gave me better traction than the race soft. And sport soft actually work good in the rain.

For racing in the rain.
Stick with Raining : Soft.

I'll heel and toe when your braking no matter what, to stop the oversteer and spin.

Balance brekaing with throttle to prevent spinning.

Also most of the time DO NOT FULL THROTTLE. Even if it's a straight line (that's what I learned)

For most of my rain races, I keep the Throttle only 70% MAX. I will only use 100% if i am 100% sure I have enough grip to hammer it without spinning.

Hmmm, wish I had read this earlier! Just golded the FGT championship, 2nd attempt, and it was such a blast. Funny how I discovered what a thrill Monaco was, the first laps I thought its way too hectic but the zone-in effect was amazing, could have done 30 or forty laps, GT at its best .... 👍👍👍

To the topic and and where I find GT not at it's best:

First a short note to the last race, Suzuka: When I attempted the championship for the first time it was not raining, but the track was soaking wet as the cars running on the starting screen pulled massive spray. And it looked dark, so I went for racing wets. Started the race: track bone dry and solid blue sky horizon to horizon, sun at high noon. Thanks PD. WTF.
2nd time same story, this time I was clever and stuck to my softs, again sunny and race no problem.

Now the real issue I'm having: Pouring rain at Monza as the first time around. So I put on my wets again. The first thing that astounds me is that the AI, as usual on slicks nomatter what, pull away at the start like I was in reverse gear. Wonder how that works? But ok, keep it cool, drive your first lap clean behind the pack and let all the idiots pit. So this happens sure as hell and I drive into a comftorble lead of say +/-15 seconds (not sure exactly). What I am sure of is my amazement of how fast the competition eats away my lead, like 3 secs per lap. By lap 5 or something everybody was FLYING past me, driving like they had these vacuum fans under their cars like in the 80s or what of Formula 1!?!?!

To my own disgust and against all priciples I even turned ASM on, didnt help (still refuse skid recovery, then I rather lose!). Lose I did of course, but didnt matter cause with 5 golds the championship is yours in any case.

Are racing softs really the answer to this? What a massive glitch that would be!!!! The way my car handles with rain tyres doesnt give me a snowflakes chance in hell to win.... I'm not all that good, but not all that bad either, those who have done this championship themselves know the gold trophies arent freebies. So I'm doubting that its 100% down to my capabilities, maybe I'm not that strong in wet conditions, but I can't assume to be bad enough to look that weak against the AI just because it rains.

Anybody won an FGT race in rain with rain tyres?

Thx,
Ren
