WipEout HD/Fury

...One of the coolest things about WipEout HD/Fury is seeing some of the retro-style ships apart from the fancy current ones. Especially for WipEout veterans like myself, you tend to appreciate seeing the older ships. I at least know the classic teams: Feisar, AG Systems, Auricom, Qirex, and Piranha.

Still a great game WipEout HD/Fury is.

It's great seeing them in higher definition and detail, I agree.
 
It's a shame I never really had time to play this. I was a massive Wipeout fan when I was a kid, and I remember when I played this new (or then new) game it was like going back to a better time! I think I may make some time to pick this up again!
 
Pretty sad the XL/2097 deal never materialized. But if there is one thing I like about WipEout HD/Fury, I like being able to do an about-face in Elimination races. You can deal much greater damage firing from behind especially with weapons like quake and even rockets. You're still racing, but you can turn around and quickly engage against oncoming enemies. I even kind of like the format of Elimination this game provides as opposed to my WipEout Fusion experience.

You know, imagine if there was a real Legacy collection of WipEout- even including all the little-known ships and teams and the ones that shown up only in one WipEout game. Maybe even some of the different past tracks in the franchise's history. Then imagine everything in pretty HD on the PS3 or even the PS4. So past ships and teams like Toros (W3), Tigron (WF), Xios International (WF), and stuff like that. Memorable tracks to me include that difficult French course in XL/2097, the Mega Mall in Wip3out, and Alca Vexus (Track 3) and Katmoda 12 (Track 3) in WipEout Fusion. I would even bring in the Superweapons from the certain teams. It would be a wild dream come true.

Hmm... No traction for the tournament mentioned a couple pages ago...

Anyone down for an endurance race on Amphesium sometime? Have a little GTP WipEout get-together. :)

I'm always down for a tournament, might have to play the 30fps Vita version though don't know if I can be bothered getting the PS3 out again. :lol: x_x

As long as it's Amphesium reverse, so we can all fail miserably on the Turbo Boost shortcut. Then we would have a interesting event.

I'd love to but I gave away my copy of HD/Fury to a friend not too long ago.
