Hey all,

I recently bought a cheap 7 inch Tabtronics tablet. Much of the time it isn't going to be leaving the house so I thought I should keep it connected to a monitor via HDMI and keep it that way. However, it would be very, very convenient if I could use it from far away using an air mouse or a device that is similar.

However, the issue is the air mice I have come across are for Android devices that have no displays such as THESE which have a USB 2.0 socket built in so you can plug in the wireless receiver. The tablet I have does not have one of these.

So the questions are:

1. Is it possible to plug this wireless receiver into another USB socket on another device close to it, and it will work the same way?
2. If this isn't possible, is there a device out there that works with an android tablet like this?

Thanks!

If the tablet doesn't support bluetooth, and as near as I can tell yours does not, you're out of luck.

Unless you can find some sort of converter that will go into one of the another input slot of the tablet. If it only has the HDMI plug, then getting a hub to allow the monitor and USB in at the same time will either be not possible, or expensive enough to negate the fact that you bought a budget tablet.

I can't speak for your tablet, but my Samsung Galaxy + this cable means that a corded mouse can be plugged in to it (according to the instructions.) I haven't tried a wireless mouse to see if it'd work yet.

If you can get something similar for the micro usb socket your tablet has, then you may be able to plug a mouse in, but it may need to be corded.

EDIT: Like this?

Hmmmmmm interesting. That adapter might work, daan. As the tablet does have the usual mini usb socket to connect to a PC.

I shall do a little more investigation to do with that before I commit myself. Shall keep you all updated!

Edit: Woohoo! Looks like it's possible!

Just to update, a mini USB to USB adapter for the wireless remote receiver worked perfectly. Worked out better than expected! Thanks for the help. 👍
