Thanks Jordan, it passed! No problems, damn I thought it was yearly but its every 6 months - only been in New Zealand for 6 months :(
Great! If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is a "Warrant of Fitness" test?

Its a vehicle roadworthy test performed every 6 months, they check all the usual stuff, brakes, lights, suspension etc.... the same as the 'MOT' test in the UK...

Cool, you got a Miata. They're great aren't they. Some people on this site think that the suck or are girly cars. Not me, I like em.

Nah, its other cars who keep sucking my exhaust ;)

The only problem, I have is its a little underpowered, only about 142BHP in N/A form - but lots of people mod them, turbo chargers and the works. One guy in the states is striving for 600BHP, and isn't far off... but the good thing is they don't weigh anything, probably about 3 KG (slight exageration).....

A good link is http://www.miatapower.net for info on mods etc... :D

They're not that underpowered at all. The car only weighs 2200lbs or so. 600hp in one is crazy, it probably drives like crap in normal driving.

142 hp in that light of a car is more than enough, my 323 is 82 hp and weighs like 2250, damn automatic. ;)

Miata, eh? MM i have never been in one/driven one, but i hear they are somewhat reliable cars.. good luck

Hope they condemn it! Too many of those silly jelly bean cars on the road! ;)

Nah, only kidding...

Hope they don't condemn it but it costs a fortune to sort out! :P

Nah, only kidding...

Hope it all goes smoothly, then you trash it on the way home!

Nah, only ki....... god this could go on forever. Good luck with it matey! :D

Question: Is that 142 bhp before or after an oil change? ;)

Hmmm, AT I refer you to post #3 which actually mentions the fact that it passed :P

No problems at all, in and out in 5 minutes - how long does a UK MOT take? This is more of a production line... Oh and I had to get a years 'road tax' too, but that was less than £70, then I filled the tank on the way back to work, and that was a tenner.... still, I wish I'd put the lid up, I think I may have a little sunburn...

Yes the 142 is after an oil change, and an exhaust change, oh and I got rid of that damned annoying CAT thing too.... and CAI etc etc etc.... can't wait to swap my ally bonnet for a carbon fibre one ;)

You pay for your own car, fuel and tax - ha, you crack me up! :P

I don't think it's fair you calling your MX5 a 'tank', it's not that bad! :D :D :D

Would that be the classic smooth lines of the Lada Riva? Or the beautiful wedge shaped Samara, a bit Trueno like.....

Perhaps if you have a taste for the 'Lada experience' then this could be right up your ally (fnah, fnah). Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the 2002 model Lada 2110(?)...
