Witcher 3

I think it's at 5 levels above the recommended level that the quests get grayed out. At that point, they give you pretty much nothing in XP.

I have a question for you guys:

I see some - though few - gear with a level of 45. How the hell am I even supposed to get that high?!...
Like I said, I'm currently level 33, done every single of the "?" everywhere except Skellige, and all the side quests and contracts I could get my hands on.
In Skellige the "?" count is almost absurd, and MOST of them are in the ocean (smugglers cache usually). The ones on land I've done almost entirely already, and I've only about 60 to go in total, which is not even nearly enough to go a couple of levels, let alone 12 of them...

I've had quite a few quests/contracts that weren't simple and were very time consuming only awarding me with 4xp or sometimes even less. Is this normal or some sort of bug in the game? It's really frustrating when it happens.

Everything with level requirement over 35 and for example legendary witcher gear is made for New Game+ mode.

As earlier poster wrote, if you are 5 or more levels higher then suggested by quest log you'll get only 5xp.

Remember that some quests will only trigger if you get close to their location (usually yellow "!" missions).

It is also a good idea to make a manual save points before key missions because some quest won't be "doable" after certain points. Try to explore some areas during epilogue but before ending, you can find some very cool things, people and consequences of your playthrough.

Yes don't cross the first bridge you'll encounter. It will trigger a ceature that will instantly kill you, and then you'll have to start all over again.

Just go into the other direction and everything will play out fine

Is it me or is performance on the PS4 not goot at all, still didn't do the patches but lots of frames being dropped here.

Stop me if this is a silly question, but does The Witch 3 have spiders in it? I love the look of the game, but I hate spiders - they really put me off Skyrim.

The don't have spiders like skyrim, bit something similar called an endrega which comes in several varieties. They're a cross between a spider and scorpion, depending on which type it is. Pic below

I assume you didn't play the Expansion Pack yet? :)

There are no spiders in base game but they do show up in the expansion pack "Heart of Stone" (which you should play as well because it is as good as the base game).

One thing I wish I payed attention too is Gwent, only played the tutorial match and didn't play another till now.

I picked this game up this weekend and my god this is a great game! And huge! It really plays well, is quite a challange and the alchemy and potion stuff is incredibly deep!

I love the fact you can go anywere, but probably will die because of not enough experience.

Game of the Year for me

I found a guy willing to sell a brand new version of this game for £20 so I thought I'd give it a go, I'm not really into the medieval fantasy RPG genre but I'm enjoying it so far and can see why the critics have rated it so highly.

I'm already looking forward to seeing how Cyberpunk 2077 will turn out.

CD Red has one more expansion coming called Blood and Wine. No date yet though.

Kinda old image, but still relevant. I am this close to playing the hell out of it. Hearts of Stone was damn impressive.

Old but not yet posted on the forum. Trying to suck some new people into the game haha. What a beautiful city; I can't wait to explore it!

Good grief this game looks good, grabbed it on steam for half price. Easily the best looking open world environment i've seen. Too bad i'm terrible at RPGs though

Don't worry about it too much, the game really isn't that difficult - unless you chose to start out on Deathmarch, in which case it might knock you down a couple times. It does becomes easier as you progress, though. Geralt really does become far more of a power house as you level up. You eventually get so many different ways to approach an encounter that you'll be able to tackle basically every challenge in some way. Once you're past a certain level and your build is coming together, you'll probably end up increasing the difficulty simply because there's little reason not. For the time being, though, there's absolutely nothing wrong with lowering the difficulty to a level you're comfortable with.

Everything else will fall into place, really. The game is rather good at keeping you informed as to where to go, what to do and whom to talk to.

Also, yeah, it is an absolutely beautiful game. Not only from a technical point of view, but also from an artistic one.

There is a difficulty setting in-game. Preferably stay at the lowest two settings since you can regen Vitality. Once you're up to snuff raise the difficulty.

Probably one of the main things you have to do in Witcher 3 is do as many quests as you can. It is the best way to earn XP. But more importantly a lot of the quests in this game are fantastic. You can explore the "?" locations as well but they aren't really quests. Take your time doing the quests - do not rush them. You're gonna be packed with quests pretty early on but tackle them one at a time. Witcher Contracts are a bit different since they always end with fighting a monster boss.

There's also scavenger hunts for Witcher gear. You must do these if you want to have OP gear. It does get a little repetitive though but it's worth it in the end.

I haven't played it in a while and I haven't even played the first expansion. Since I got a new PS4 at Christmas I've decided to do a fresh install and download all the extra stuff and play it from the beginning again.

Probably a good time to tackle the expansion. Just take it nice and slow.

There's also an option that allows you to skip straight to the DLC, with a pre-leveled character. That's actually a pretty neat idea, in hindsight. Never thought much of it, but I recently lost my save files for the game, so...

I got this for my birthday last month and haven't played it yet. I really ought to, because I've wanted it since release.

I saw the DLC for the character stats keeping etc. I wasn't keen on the idea as I want to experience the whole game from start to finish. As such I deleted my character and save files.

I've got a 17GB download for the latest a patch and then some more GB's for the first major DLC. It's going to take some time on my internet connection. I'll then wait for Blood & Wine before starting.
