It's running out of words

It isn't, it's not even 1/3rd of the way through the word list yet...

I also play Quordle and Squardle, so I am perhaps more familiar with some of the more obscure words that are on the Wordle list, though I have never looked at the Wordle list itself.

One trick I sometimes employ when it is obviously not a 'normal' word is to check if the word is valid in Quordle first...

Wordle doesn't tell you a word is valid or not until you try submitting it, whereas an invalid word in Quordle immediately turns red, so you can sense-check weird words in Quordle 'for free' as it were. I don't know for 100% certain that the Quordle word list is identical to the Wordle word list, but I think it is - i.e. there are definitely 'real' 5 letter words that Quordle rejects as well as Wordle.
