In theory it should fly around the tight twisty tarmac tracks as it did in France to win it's first race in the WRC. Those cars tend to suffer badly from understeer, even more than the 4WD's from my GT3 racing experience with them. We really need to do a quick race comparrision against the WRX for example to see if it's worth including it.

Perhaps I'll try that tonight. For now, let's drop it.

So, that gives us 9 cars (assuming the Lancia can keep up, I'll try that one too.).

Oh the Lancia will keep up alright. In fact it will probably kick a$$. I've used the Delta against virtually all the other WRC's and it really flies. If I could choose a Rally Car to race in this series I would pick the Delta every time.

Ah...okay!

I'll start a sign up thread. I'll probably only have 18 entrants, two for each car. I'll randomly apply the people to the cars.

Good stuff.

We'll you can put me down for a place if there's room. I could probably recruit a few more decent racers if you need to make up the numbers.

Could try and ask --
Mr Persistance
Pako
Jayjitsu
Magic069
talentless
vat_man
plus some others...

Am I the only one here who knows how to drive FF? I mean, if we were just doing 0-400 or 0-1000, then FF would suck. But for running laps, I've had my best (stock rally-car) times with the Xsara. I guess next round, when we get to choose, I'll have to take y'all to school :D

I like the idea for the random events to represent "rally luck". But I think that if we did it, we'd have to have a non-participant rolling the dice. I trust Alt, but not everybody else does, and the possiblity of APPEARING to play favorites is something I think we all want to avoid.

That's why I thought a mandatory one minute penalty would have been good. At one of the stages, you'd be required to take a one minute penalty. This would effectively put you in last place for that race. But, you'd get to choose WHEN you took the penalty, which could really affect the outcome in the next stage.

Any thoughts?

Here's a thought....

Roll 1d100

01-90 Nothing special
91-95 Loose track surface; Add (5d10 / 10) seconds to stage time
96-98 ROCK!!! Wheel damaged; add (1d10/2) seconds to stage time
99 Blown shock; add 2d10 seconds to stage time
00 "Pull a Jervy"; car is wheels up in ditch - DNF this stage
