This series is grand in scale, and is suited best to those who enjoy endurance racing using low powered cars with unique modifications. The best part is that car choice is pretty open, only limited to production cars that can have a roll cage installed. Full details of potential regulations are listed below. My goal was to make it so that the cars are fairly equal, without having a hard set of specifications for every car. And the way we do that is with a target lap time. For more information, check the details below. This thread is going to be pretty basic to start until we get closer to racing, so it is under construction.

The schedule will consist of 13 races across 15 weeks using real life circuits only. Most of them are 60 minutes in length, with three races being 90 minutes. We'll take a week off after each 90 minute race. All races will be on Sundays at a yet to be determined time slot. Tire/fuel wear will be set so that a minimum of one pit stop will be required. Standing start grid with false start check. Weather could be a factor!

As far as the cars go, here are the specifics:
  • Production cars newer than 2000 with which a roll cage can be installed
  • Max 600pp
  • Sport Soft tires
  • Any drivetrain allowed
Parts that must be installed:
  • Front / Rear downforce parts
  • Roll Cage
Ideally each car should have a full racing transmission, racing suspension, Custom ECU (most will need power limiting to get under 600pp) Brake Balance adjustment, Increase Chassis Rigidity, Racing Brakes and Pads, and anything else you may need to make the car suitable for you. Power adders can be used to improve driveability if necessary. Do what you need to do as long as the car stays under 600pp. The custom ECU will be needed here to reduce power to get under that limit. If you have any questions, please ask.

Then, each circuit will have a minimum target lap time. Your goal is to tune the car such that on an all-out qualifying lap, you should be as close to that time as possible without going over. Race pace will typically be within 1-2 seconds of this target time. This should get everyone fairly close and make for good racing.

I'll update this when I have more info, but if this interests you, please let me know!

Very much interested. Getting fed up with the dailies, would like some civilised people to race with. I'm not that fast but I try my best to race clean.
1 hour at 600pp sounds good (as long as no one is allowed to use the silly suspension glitches).

Hallo, ich komme aus Deutschland und würde gerne mit Ihnen Rennen fahren.
When did the race starts?
Sundays, maybe 10am PST (17:00 UTC)

Update on this, it might turn into an all-out 13 race season using most of the real life circuits in the game, each with varying race lengths between 1 to 1.5 hours. Best part is that car choice is completely your choice based on the following:

  • any production car 2000 or newer
  • must be under 600pp
  • must be equipped with a roll cage
  • must stay above a target lap time at each circuit

I will post more details soon.

I'm keen to join, if I can. Love the idea of a structured tuned racing league, especially in this class. Sooo tires of short RH daily racing. I'm curious about the target timing. Do you have any sample times for any tracks you intend to use?

Target time at Watkins Glen during the brightest part of the day, tire/fuel set at 1x, I'm looking at 2:01.000.

That was a quick reply! Thanks for that. I'll get right on it! I uninstalled GT7 last week. Seeing your post is the one reason I downloaded it again. I hope this event gets the interest I think it deserves.

Any news? When do you plan to start racing, or practice even?
Likely won't be starting any racing until we get almost a full field. Which doesn't look likely to happen. I tried advertising it in a facebook group and got no replies.

I just tried loading up my replays from the last tuned Daily Race As I did (Watkins Glen and Laguna Seca). The plan was to send invites to those I saw in the lobby. Sadly, the replays disappeared when I deleted the game! The next time there's a similar tuning event, I'll try to find ways to point folk to this thread.

I'm interested. I suggest you make a discord server. It'll be easier that way to advertise and gather enough people. I'd also prefer 2pm UTC, but maybe I can do 5pm UTC as well.

Would anybody here be interested in racing this Sunday? I'm thinking hosting a couple of racing hours based on R1600's initial idea, and CaseyKeesie's recent post. It's just really to start the ball rolling with experimenting and seeing if others just join in!

Here's what I propose, from this weekend.

Sunday, 2pm UTC
RS, 600pp limit
Tsukuba, Random Order +5 laps, Dry
Spa, Reverse Order +3 laps, Wet
Autopolis, 5min Quali + 20min race, Random weather

Sunday, 5pm UTC
RM/IM/W, 650pp limit
Red Bull Ring, Random Order +5 laps, Dry
Suzuka, Reverse Order +3 laps, Wet
Nurburging GP, 5min Quali + 20min race, Random weather

I'll share the replays, and R1600, you can use them to help formulate a league. Who's up for that?

I don't know if I'll be around, kind of on crunch time with working on my car to get it back on the road and Sunday is "work on the car day".

You can run something if you want, though my intention with the series is to use SS tires. As far as the suspension glitch, it's fairly obvious if someone is using it, so if we ban it and see someone doing it, then they can race elsewhere.
