Classic day online:

I found a crusing lobby with cops, right hand lane driving and a 120 km/h speed limit. I thought: "Yeah!" Then I joined and what did I see? Everyone was doing hotlaps in racecars, there were no cops and the host didn't care either...

Unfotunately the poor reality.

I've managed to find a couple excellent fellow cruisers though & drive with them from time to time in open lobbies but also lounges. If there is anybody who breakes the "rules", he'll get instantly kicked or deserve a second chance if the mistake was not a big deal.

:)

This incident of mine just occurred recently.
I was in a 2 lap race on Liëge. 5 racers entered, but I'll focus on 3 (Me: Lancia Delta S4, Host: Suzuki SX4 WRC, & Host's friend : Audi Pikes Peak). So i was off to a good start with collisions off. I took 2nd after i passed the Host's Suzuki, after which he said to everyone that NO WALLRIDING is allowed. Well on the final lap Me & Host were batteling for 2nd (Audi in First Riding EVERY wall) & he ignores it. At Midsector, my brakes didn't do much and hit one wall (Not RIDING it). Host says he's going to boot me after the race but hold on, there is a catch. Through the final sector he tries to pass me on every corner by RIDING THE WALLS!! Final results were 1st: Audi, 2nd: My Delta S4, 3rd: Host's Suzuki. He yelled at me by calling me a "NEEEEWWWWWWWB, GO BACK TO SKATE3!" (I don't even have SKATE3) He then kicked me because he was a sore loser. I later sent him a message saying

"I find it funny that you basically kicked me for finishing in front of you, think about. Honestly, i hit around 3 to 4 corners, and YOU clearly passed me at mid-Sector riding the Wall. Now welcome to my Block list. =)":grumpy:

And this is why im avoiding online for a while. That and I got Fallout: New Vegas. But still.

Before I did, this made me snap. Someone came into a room I was in (host was AFK, but it was an ok room anyway) and plugged in his mic. He then asked me how old I was so I replied

"For me to know, and for you not to find out, my friend."

So he barraged me with flavoured language and pulled out an NSX in gold chrome. I said "Hey, wanna race." I was in my Range Stormer, and I knew I'd win. He ended up trying to ram me off the road. So he ended up going into the wall himself. Repeatedly. For no reason. At the end he got slightly personal, he said

"U (not here) idiot, I'll kill your family and you and all the ones who care about you!"

So me, being the smart Alec I think I am say "Id threaten the same, but without the last bit."

He then left and proceeded to spread rumours that I was a rammer, hacker and I scam people. So I'm laying low, enjoying new Vegas. Drinking irradiated toilet water :)

So I was just in a lobby on Nurburgring, and saw the following cars:
Mazda 787B
Nissan R92CP
Nissan R89C
Mercedes Sauber C9

I figured "Why not complete the roster" and brought out the premium XJR-9. For no reason I get picked on.

R92CP: Go away u aren't elite like us
Me: ?
R89C: Gtfo jeep
Me: Oh really? *Looks at driver list* And elitists use Racing Softs?
R89C: stfu man
Me: Speak English I can't understand Noobian.
R92CP: Kick JeepXJFreak98
*You were rejected*

I shrugged it off and moved on.

I was in a Suzuka East drift lobby. All was fine until someone said "Who wants to drag?"

I replied with "If you want to drag, go to to a drag lobby." "This is a drift lobby."

He replied with "I can out drift you any day kid"

My reply was "Whoa. We got a badass over here."

I forgot what his final reply was, but he got disconnected a little while later. I also found out he was drifting on Comfort Soft tires. Noob. :P

Even if it was possible, that would only be short term satisfaction. What I would do ( depending on their abilities behind the wheel of course.) is race them and either beat them or humilate them. They might boot me afterwards but the damage will be done. :mischievous: Nothing's more satisfying than deflating an "Elitist's" ego and make them doubt their own abilities. :)

I would have easily trashed them, despite being on Racing hards + Completely stock at around 800-ish horsepower. The 🤬 host must've been a close friend of the "elitists".
I should note that the Sauber C9 driver was using active steering...how elite.

I wish I was good at the game so I could do this :(

In fairness, you don't have to be quick to do it. As long as you keep the car on the blacktop, any driver can go faster than someone who's all talk and no trousers. :)

This what I've started doing in rooms with people who think they are fast:
Option one: I start at back of grid on hards and give them a full 10 second head start
Option two: start at front on softs do two quick laps pit when no tyre wear is on then exit puts and pass everyone and win race
This is how I teach the muppets a lesson

I guess. I generally only join 1/4 mile drag lobbies (in terms of competitive racing and not cruising or casual drifting) though, which means that generally speaking the egotistical 'I am the fastest here' people are often legitimately the fastest when they're running Veyrons with SRF.

Joining an unlabled hack room, I realize they are all hacked, so I try to leave. Well guess what happens! PS3 frezzes and lost 2 hours of tuning!! Thank god for USBs! Few days old but not corrupted. Thanks alot...

Looking through SSR7 cruise lobbies looking for TXR style highway pulls.

Problem #1: Very hard to get behind someone and flash high-beams. Most people are in the tunnel or going to the tunnel, others are far away from the starting point.

Problem #2: Many people have never heard of TXR, so they won't know why someone is sitting behind them flashing their high beams.

Problem #3: Chances are they're already planning to race someone else anyway.

Problem #4: And most of them are using HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAX. An NC MX-5 and a slammed '88 Accord outrunning an Academy GTR Tuned Car... yeah, seems legit.

Anyway, the real point. Some guy comes in, drops some spaced out swear words about his girlfriend breaking his mixamp and what he felt like doing to her. Then left some time later.

It's extraordinary how low GT5 public lobbies have fallen. I've given up on them, frankly. Last lobby I joined was a London cruise lobby choc full of hacked Audi R8s, and one Mine's R34 with easily over 3,000bhp. Ironically my R32 with 646bhp could perform a faster lap.

The thing that annoys me most is when you have disrespectful little children who have microphones - not only are their voices annoying, but so are their personalities!

Funnily enough though the majority of people here prefer to cruise or free run. If everyone who comes to this thread added each other, they'd probably have a good private lobby from the git-go.

It surprises me though, when this time last year a decent lobby wasn't difficult to find. It's seemingly impossible now. The decent drivers have either left GT5, or they've retreated to private lounges, leaving the not-so-decent.

EDIT: Just remembered another pet peeve - people who drive obviously hacked cars, yet are adamant that they aren't.

Drifting/free run has just fallen to a new low. So have overall driving standards. Today, I joined a drift lobby with low expectations (it was called something like DRiFTf un or something), and they were not met. Arrogance has risen to a whole new level in here, X2010s/X2011s running amok and pace cars ramming you at full speed. And for some reason, everyone seems to absolutely despise each other. But, I am now convincing people my completely unhacked Aristo with 619hp is hacked because it spins up in 5th and is able to actually drift, so that's kinda fun:D

The Gran Turismo 6 lobbies are going to be an interesting experience. Especially after all of the nonsense I've dealt with GT5's online.

If you can start at the back on a harder compound and give a 10 second head start to boot, the people you are racing against aren't fast, they are dead slow:sly:...pathetic actually:crazy:.

So I tried racing online in the Open Lobby for the second time tonight. Was hoping to find a couple good rooms where I could race cleanly. Needless to say that was pretty much hopeless. But look at it this way fellas (and girls)... if they tried this same crap in real life on track like the Nurburgring they'd probably all be dead so there's always a bright side eh?
