Would you buy this for $7500?

No, if only because I'd have to convert it to 110V. ;)

All in all, $7500 doesn't seem like a lot to ask for a full sit-down cabinet arcade game. Professional monitors and pneumatics don't come cheaply.

On the other hand, I could use the money to pay off my real car and have enough money left over for some fun...

Why would I pay $15000 when I can get it for 7500.

I can buy a REAL AE86 for that. I wouldn't want to, but I could.

I really do not understand why anyone would buy one these when you can buy the actual car and drift around a racetrack if you'd like for a fraction of the price.

Well, you're less likely to be killed or maimed playing a video game. Unless you're an impressionable youth who listens to goth music while playing.

I would buy a real car if I was old enough and had a liscense and goto track days for that kinda money. Alternately you could just by Special Stage on your PS2 and buy a bucket-seat and the GT4 wheel when it comes out and a nice 50" TV all for cheaper than that.

I'd buy it..then I'd find a store or something to put it in so I could make money off it....otherwise I'd just buy a real car.

it depends on where you put it hehe....if I put it in an Import Tuning shop..then charge 1 dollar per game..hehe you could make money fast...but seriously..it'd be a waste of money to buy an arcade game unless you were putting it in an arcade.

Oh - you're in college I assume. You claim to be 25, so if you're in high school well, you've played too much Initial D.)

I guess having an arcade at college isn't anything bad.

Yes, I'm in college but I'm actually not a vid game person I just love GT3 and cars but damn from the stuff I read in here I'm no where close to you guys in time that I spend on this game. For example the "you know you've been playing gt3 too much when...". Anyways, I haven't played Initial D at school either but I wanted to at least try it. Even though there are people that are my age here I still feel like I'm surrounded by a bunch of teens (no offense people) say like that thread Bengee made up for everyone. Please I don't wanna start stuff or piss anyone off just making observations from my point of view.

Here's the best solution (gamewise): Buy an NTSC PS2 and get someone to install a Messiah 2 or DSM3 chip into your PS2 (you can now play original import games as well as backups). Next you buy one of those Racing Seats with the attachable PS2 steering wheels, for the moment get a Momo Force (then the GT4 wheel when it comes out).

Go down to your local electronics store and buy a 28" or bigger widescreen TV and place this a few feet infront of your raceseat setup. Then go down to your local import games shop and buy Initial D: Special Stage, Kaido Battle, Battlegear 2, Gran Turismo Concept.

If you still have some money left over (very likely) repeat the setup again and buy an i-link cable too. Buy a few beers, invite a few friends over to try out your latest toy :P

With the left over money buy a banger car and hose the road with water, if you crash the car who cares, it cost a lot less than $15,000 just make sure no-ones around to get hurt.

Because drifting will start costing a hell of a lot more if and when you break something? :D

Well I'd rather mess up in a video game then in a car, tell you the truth..And plus I'd buy any one of them because I have no social life what so ever..

my drift car was only $700, so that would take a lot of breaking to make it equal 7,500...and after all that real life drifting, the game would be lame

I kno this is gonna sound lame, but up and over here in PA, we dont even have any of those Initial D games:( :( , so thats accually my first time seeing one of those in arcade form:banghead:
