Ok so before posting I had a look on the forum and did a search and found nothing, so apologies if there is a thread for this please just supply the link thanks!

Anyhow while watching a replay yesterday something I have to admit I don't do often I was using the Toyota Gt-One and noticed something strange. The sponsorship says Exxon Superflo, but I was sure that it should be Esso Ultron. I checked back on previous GT games and indeed it was Esso Ultron so how come it's been changed to Exxon Superflo in GT5? I've looked on images of the car and not one of them has Exxon on so why have PD done it? Are there any other cars you know of with incorrect sponsorship please share them here

Thanks :)

Exxon Superflo is the American name of Esso Ultron. The Peugeot 905 gets a sponsorship change too.

Ah ok thanks, my question now then is why have they changed it for the PAL version to Exxon which is what I'm using? I'd have thought it would have made more sense to have Esso? Really this sort of thing annoys me for realism. It's almost like having to have Racing on an old Williams F1 car rather than Rothmans, although I know the reason for that!

It was changed in GTPSP too.

Exxon Superflo is an alternate branding for the same product as Esso Ultron. Conceivably there's a licensing issue preventing them from running the Esso Ultron logo, as the #3 1999 Le Mans car (chassis number 804) never ran with anything other than Esso Ultron sponsorship - but whatever the reason, the car is the same in Forza 3 as well...

Thanks! I never noticed it in FM3, not sure I ever drove it, seems odd though I'd have preferred blurred logos with the correct Esso oval would have looked better.

Also noticed on the Audi R8 01 race car that it no longer says Infineon on the side - just a load of lines made similar to the Infineon logo is this because Forza has the rights to Infineon now?

That's what is believed however the Infinion track logo was one of those found within the GT5 Remote Racing site.

R8 probably has no Infineon Logo becauses there's no Infineon track in the game, what a tease that would be.... I'm sure if this ever changes, they'll update the car.

A lot of cars have PD sponsorship in the place of real sponsors. The Mercedes Benz CLK touring car has had it's Arcor windshield sponsor barcoded. However the Opel Astra touring car has the same windshield sticker but it isn't barcoded.
