Mas td bem, é isso ae. Bom trabalho de qq forma. 👍

edit: LOL i woke up now and i couldn´t see clearly, nice first win jason!! :)

Well done mate! i hope you get many others in the next upcoming weeks. ;)

Shame I didn't submit my time because:

1'04.782 Small_Fryz

1'04.782 VTRacing

1'04.782 Sphinx

Strange, that would never happen in any earlier GT game series unless it was a 0-400/0-1000m run out, or some other straight line licence test. Even in the BC we are seeing much closer time margins that has never been seen before in GT. I wonder why this is?

What an impressive bunch here. Congrads to all!

What a deceptively not-easy race! The simple course bunched us up considerably, so it's fascinating how little time separated us from the ones ahead and behind. Except for those deadly capable leaders of course. :D

I ended up about where I thought I would in the stack, but I'm heartened that I'm only two seconds behind the leader. Of course in racing terms, two seconds is a lot like two minutes! :P

But it also means that my seat of the pants racing chops aren't shabby at all, if I can run with such a talented pack! Race on!

I think it's because of the technical accuracy and connection to the cars Gran Turismo 4 affords us. And it simply gets better the more we live with it, and again, I doubt it will be like this with other games to the extent it is and will be with GT. It's simply a magical racing game. Just imagine what competition will be like with Gran Turismo 5!! AUGH! I can barely contain my excitement!!

Awesome time by the way.

Here's my maxdrive replay :)

Congrats to all podiums ... unlucky Jerome, I thought you had it this week.

Well who knows if I didnt NEED to spend time on my BC race that was due today as well....but hey I honestly thought with everyone's D2 splits above mine that I was gonna get knocked off the podium for sure! 3 straight podiums, I'll take what I can get, no regrets :)

hOt, veil,

I watched both replays at lunch. Impressive!

I think the difference between winning and losing this week came down to hOt braking JUST BARELY too much going under the bridge and setting up to accelerate out a hair slower. That and veil using every last RPM before shifting. There are a handful of shifts where hOt probably shifted on the light and veil shifted at absolute max RPM. That gap pulled in those 0.01's of a second may have made all the difference.

I'm amazed that veil could come back from nearly a tenth down at T1 to win.

hOt: I noticed the driving on the grass shenanigans you mentioned. Didn't seem to make any difference on your rate of acceleration based on the analyzer data. At first I was wondering if the drag to the finish cost you the race, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I'm always impressed and amused that even though both of these guys use somewhat different brake/gas philosophies (veil uses both feet always whereas hOt is either on or off on pedal or the other at all times with no overlap) you guys end up so close at the line. One thing that I know for sure is that you both make full advantage of the braking enhancement of downshifting early to buzz the engine. For some reason I think I have a problem with my DFP because the game just won't let me downshift that early much of the time.

Unless you really zoom in and stretch the scale on the analyzer display, it almost looks like the same trace. Incredible that you two can brake at the absolute same spot corner after corner.

Bravo!

I'm not worthy!

hehe thank you.

Yeah, i was happy because i was 0.1 off hotboi in T1, that means if i had one normal 20.230, that was what i was mostly geting, so i could end in a 1'04.380 or like that. I had one bad T1 of 30.303, but even tho i could make some time in the part after T1. But that´s ok, its over. :)

I remember twice i had a T1 of 20.199 and once 20.200, but couldn´t do again.

53 submitted times, the most i see in a long time... now, just waiting for somebody, who always has the average...
...and here I am after a very long night at work chasing idiots around a sewage treatment plant  :yuck: I've got to get a new job!

53 entries makes for an average lap of 1'05.463

Div1 av - 1'04.753
Div2 av - 1'05.220
Div3 av - 1'06.363

Well done to everybody who submitted a time 👍 :)

The time was 1'13.482 ...and you were already one the racers involved ;)

Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew I slapped that T2-Finish, I hit it perfect and it jumped me to 6th!!! Very happy with that. Here's my replay

I've been checking some PAL replays :
jase86, sjaak68, lotus350 and geeTeye, all 4 perfectly clean.

[offtopic]Sjaak drove a blue Altezza, all 3 others drove the yellow one.[/offtopic]

I only needed to use photo mode once, for Sjaak's outside in the first tunnel.
2 wheels are beyond the white line, a third one touches the line but it never goes further that half on the line, half on the good side of the track. So it's perfectly legal.

@slow racers : Jase used the grass in the fast first chicane (1st outside and 2nd apex) and it seems that it saved some time. I paid attention myself to avoid grass, that wasn't the good solution it seems.

I'm having some problems with the USB to PS2 connection, gonna try a reboot and see if that fixes it.

Edit:Alright I fixed that, turns out my slim PS2 doesn't like my Xport CD. Good thing I kept my old PS2, even if it will not read any DVD games or movies, it still reads CD's :)

But now I have no clue which replay is which, they are all named the same. Gotta find Arwin's replay manager.

Edit 2: I can't seem to find a Replay Manager for GT4... I'll assume for now that the last ghost replay save file that appears in Xport is also the most current save. So I'll post that one up. Can someone please verify it?

Welcome to the "pain in the @$$" GT4 replay system :D
As far as I know, many people are using 2 memcards. They keep the second one empty and copy the replay they want to export onto it. It's then easy to export it on the USB stick or through the USB link.

BTW, my Xport doesn't load into my new slim PS2 either.

Speaking of doing the math and statistics, since joining the WRS way back in week 1, this week was the best I've done as a percentage of the winning time.

99.29% of TTOD. Not too bad, but ended up 12th out of 14 in D1, and 15th out of 50 overall.

Two weeks ago at HSR was a close second at 99.17% of veil's TTOD with 2nd out of 37 overall. Funny, but that result was more fulfilling (obviously with the podium finish at my first event in D1) even though I was "faster" this time, right? (3rd "fastest" interestingly enough was all the way back to week 2 at Fuji in the Supra. 20th out of 87 OA. I guess it's easier to get close to TTOD at the relatively simple tracks with long straights and few corners... I'm particularly proud, becuase of this, of my division wins at Citta di Aria at 98.13% and Opera Paris at 98.36%). My worst average was at Cathedral Rocks at 93.12%. BLEH! I've submitted times for all but one event (Superbird at Infineon) so I'm not cherry picking good results. My average average, BTW, is 97.2% of TTOD. My goal is to bring that up slowly but surely.

Of course at HSR there wasn't a rabid hollO1 chasing veil, and hOt phoned in his effort so who knows how much faster that TTOD _COULD_ have been.

Anyway, it seems like slowly but surely I'm getting a better. Thanks for the competition! I'm glad there's something to keep me off the streets late at night getting into things I shouldn't be getting into...

Gratz to all the Podiums. Very close racing by ALL this week, I knew that the top spots would come down to under .1 sec's 👍

Small_Fryz
VTRacing, what are you doing!! its MY time not yours! :grumpy:

Ok Small_Fryz, I challenge you to Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide the result!!

( *Good old rock, nothin' beats that* )

Congrats to everyone  ; props to CFM for dragging the BC competitors in by running their race ;)

And I finally knocked SHigSpeed off after a couple of weeks of close defeats, yay! I was so happy when I saw my time come up, all I wanted was a time in the 1'04s.

And my secret: I ran RM on the rear to give me better balance.

Here's my replay (PAL)

I know I shouldn't even admit this but, I submitted the wrong time :dunce: . I can supply a replay for the time submitted but I had much faster laps.

I feel like I'm earning the reputation as the DUNCE of the WRS! :ouch:

here´s the replay, glad i was under the average lap in div1...

Well I don't have a second memory card so I'll try to figure something out. Since I only use my PS2 for GT4 I could keep a game save on my mem card only. So if I save a ghost replay, I'll know exactly what it is once in the Xport software. Only thing though is that I normally like to save a few replays if one sector in one lap is much better than another lap so I can review all of it and try to improve. I guess once I'm done I could just keep the better lap or race.

BTW, has anyone been able to verify that I provided the correct replay (It's NTSC Xport)? I really thought that Arwin's Replay Manager would have gotten the update for GT4 because I remembered that it worked with Prologue. :(

At least i had the best T2 split :) hehe

cya, next time will be a different story veil and hot, a very different story.

I've just done a few quick calculations:

And at 250km/h (roughly the speed at the S/F line)

veilside was
1.2 metres in front of hotboi (+.017)
2.5 metres in front of hollo1 (+.036)
23 metres in front of me (+.335)
and 41 metres in front of kenny (+.600)

That's less than a car length covering veil, hot and holl. Nice racing guys!!

And you were 0cm infront or behind me!!

Very close racing this week guys 👍

Cool thing VTR! altough when i was playing, i got the same exact lap of curtis once, and so, i puted my ghost on and it look liked some centimeters just off! haha

That's MY trick from last week!! Actually, it was RS, but my fastest time came on RSS/RSS this week. My biggest problem was braking into the hairpin. I was on pace to run 1'04.6xx laps a bunch of times only to suck.

Congrats on the sub-victory this week VT. I'll be back though. We'll see how this week goes for time.
