I've recently submitted my WRS qual... hope to be joining you all on the track soon!

I may actually win the prize for the newest ride here. Though, it's not technically 'my' ride.

It's a 2006 VW Passat Estate 1.6 FSI.

Thing is, it's a company car. Just got it last week. Don't think I'd have a car in London if I didn't need it for work. But I quite love this car. No mods (obviously), but it's got a kick@$$ Sat-Nav. I'll never have to look at a map again!!!

I'll put a pic up here when I've got one.

Is that the turbo/supercharged engine? For a while there I was thinking, WOW, that's a TINY engine for such a HUGE car. I've got a couple Volvos, when I've more time, I'll make a nice post about'm.

And yes, definitely some cool rides out there... About the 350Z though, how's the understeer on that thing? Lol, as far as I've read, it was bad enough with the stock staggered tires... Sure looks GREAT! though! 👍 👍

Don't think it's turbocharged. Though I don't know what the FSI actually stands for. I think it's got about 120 bhp, coming from a 1.6l engine that does seem like quite a bit.

Thing is, I used to have the sport TDI version with about 160 bhp (only reason I got that was cuz I inherited it from a director that got made redundant :sly: ). Getting used to 25% less power is difficult. And the gear ratios are much tighter than on my old one. I'm in 4th gear at 30mph now. But I'm sure I'll get used to it. Like I said, it's great for camping, moving big things, and best of all, it's all free!!! (though I pay through my nose on income tax)

Well I just joined the WRS (no word on my division yet), but figured I'd get in on the car thing anyway. Mine's a '66 Pontiac Ventura 4-door. Original 389 (6.5 liters) bored .030 over to 396. 3-speed TH400 trans with 2.42 rear gear. Not good for drag racing, but fortunately it's got a good bit of torque ;) Makes around 300hp and around 370lb-ft of torque.

Mods:
Engine Rebuild and .030 overbore
Transmission Rebuild
Aluminum Edelbrock 4-barrel intake manifold
Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel carb
HEI distributor
6X cylinder heads (lower compression, don't need premium/octane booster now)
Air Conditioning removed (didn't have the money to get new hoses, etc, so it's now classified as a "weight reduction")
Radiator recored

That's about it. Here are some pics, and also a video of me doing a burnout, just for fun :D

I have a *caugh* Nissan Skyline GTR R34 with *caugh* 1,200 bhp, *caugh*
and a Honda NSX *caugh* with 700bhp *caugh caugh* *AAHHCHOOO)

Don't really understand the point of your post but thanks anyway :sly: 👍

well, my car has been through hell and back, but its still in one piece though.

its a ford 1988 EA, runs on gas so its cheap to run, straight 6 cylinder, it has 4 tires attached also, and one spare tyre that is really flat iside the boot. there is no horn, and to start the car all i have to do is use any old key as it was stolen 2 years ago, and the bastards totally destroyed the ignition lock/key.

i tied to cross a freeway at night time once as i missed the exit to canberra on the hume highway, i missed judged the size of the ditch though and i was stuck in there for half an hour trying to get the car out of the ditch, unfortanetly the back bumper panel split in half while trying, haha.

unfortunately, sometimes the great drivers have to deal with not so great cars...

but it will get better, just wait until the end of your university, things will get better after:tup:

haha, i dont care what car i drive as long as it gets u from point A to point B:sly:

things dont have to get better for me to buy a new car, as i probably wont anyway, i will only buy a new car when i either write it off in a high speed collision with a stationary bus, or if the engines explodes out of nowhere on a main highway. or if my mum smashes the front windscreen in a fit of rage with a blunt axe from the shed, and so on...

But you've got to have another dig, haven't you?

Stop it now before you get another warning. 💡

Looks like I've missed something yesterday, while I was testing week 45.
Thanks daan for having taken care of the kindergarten while I was away.

Veil, can we expect to have you racing this week, since I had told you that week 45 would be something special ?

Lets say we have a hypothetical race between members cars? Who would win?!

Scanning over the list I think Androos's Evolution VIII and one of VT's STi's would be well up the front dainbramage's 350z might get a look in too.

As for last...I think my SEAT would be pretty close...But I think I might be able to just pip the Yugo and Flat-Os Kangaroo thingy.

List updated 👍 The only reason I knew what your car actually was though Kent is that it's in your sig. Ironically for such a long post about your car, at no point do you mention what it is :sly: You may want to put that in somewhere

[EDIT]
Good question Casio, there's a couple of scorchers, the Mustang would be good, the Evo VIII of course...I'd put my money on VT's STi's though (bikes excluded that is)
[/EDIT]

I was actually kind of going for that... :odd:
Over time I work things like that (stuff from my sig).
As I wrote the post I wanted to build up the car but never wanted to really say what it was. :dunce:
I suppose that was the wrong way to go about it.

All good though,
Point taken. :D

I'm headed off to see the list now and will reply with any thoughts (probably in an edit).

:edit:
 one thing jumped at me when I saw my name... 1996! :sly:
Try '06 ;) :grateful:

What actually jumped out at me overall though- the quality of the cars on that list. Lots of interesting cars and some of them I don't even know. :american:

Anyway,
I'm saying... Those were some nice cars. 👍
Diverse across the board and not one sounded like something that would be out of place in gt4. :D

I should have realised your post had purpose they're always well thought out :)

As for your year, I'll change that now :dunce: (I wonder if I'm subliminally not over the nineties yet?!? I do that a lot)

And I agree, some of these cars in GT would be so good, I hope they get Proton on board for GT5, I would LOVE to drive my car in GT, it would rock!

I'm still doing that with the years myself. :ouch:
Also, indeed it would be nice to drive your own real life car in GT. I wanted to do that when I had a Camry. 👍

Can we have the race on gravel? :mischievous:

On tarmac the Evo would kick my butt, I have to run a restrictor in the turbo of the STi. :dunce:
