I'm free, but I'mhungoverIrish.
Disappointed I didn't see this earlier, I was free this evening.
That felt like a great race, good for some bad for others. Only had to pit once for fuel, no damage taken, I'll consider that self improvement.
that was a really fun race. had a great time battling with Chris. A couple offs but otherwise consistent and lucked into a podium.
Chris. If you take a phone call do NOT do it in the middle of the track when others are racing. Cheers for 🤬 it up.
Panoz great win, and Snow GT-O Champion!
Thanks for the mention...
Also I found out that IRL Spa 24 hour race starts at 16:30 local time...
EDIT: Work now progressing on WSC VIII. Teaser to come
Woah, Furi actually lets both classes start together now?
What a brilliant track this is! And although it feels like I should have won this one, I'm very happy with taking home the GT-O title!
Managed to secure pole with a 1:34.9, but Lout showed a better faction at the start and overtook me, and Yeratel outbraked me into Druids right after. Lout went wide in the same corner, so Yera gained 2 places with that move and I was in 3rd. My original plan of getting away thwarted I decided to take it easy for a while and watch what would happen. Lout got on the grass after 3 laps or so, so I closed the gap to Yera and after 6 laps started to push a bit more. Yera then went a little wide at Hawthorn and I took advantage of that and took the lead. I put in my fastest laps then (34.8) and inched away from Yera who soon after had an off, which meant I suddenly had a gap to 2nd place.
Soon after the GT-P's starting lapping I then had an unfortunate meeting with Randy. After Surtees I was approaching him and from behind a GT-P car was approaching. I wanted to let him pass on the left, but Randy did the same and was braking a little earlier than me for Hawthorn, which resulted in me running into him. I should probably have lifted earlier to be on the safe side, but I was looking in the mirror for the GT-P and when I looked back at the track it was already too late. After the necessary repairs I was in 7th position in GT-O and settled in for a long stint, over the course of which I improved to 2nd.
About 22 laps from the estimated end I decided to pit for a new set of tyres, since mine were down to 7 and the rest of the race would have been unpleasant, and no matter how far Yera was ahead, I figured he had to pit as well. Which he did at the same lap just ahead of me, as it turned out. Took the lead in the pits for a couple of seconds, but then Yera was out again, and Lout was between us for a lap or so until he also pitted one more time. After that I managed to bring down the gap to about 5 seconds at one point, but then Cami spun in front of me completely blocking me 3 laps from the end, so I had to pit again for repairs and had to settle for 2nd.
Race wise.. Fell off the road a ton.. Got involved with Snow (sorry again!) when he rear ended me when Furi was coming by... and then went off at the top of the hill, clipped Chris Johnson (sorry Chris). However, today didn't go that bad, better than Matternhorn for that matter but not as good as LeMans.
I was the GT-P in question, I was looking at you two thinking you were just letting me by and Snow just smacked into Randy
Great circuit though. We start the Road To Le Mans here next season
When does next season start?
Not much rest for the weary, huh?Probably June.
