Xbox One controller no functioning with farming sim 2015

So I'm liking this game so much that i decided to purchase it on my alienware M17X R2 laptop. I needed a controller. So I plug in my Official Xbox One play and charge kit into my controller and my controller into the laptop. I installed the X64 driver on my laptop from the http://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-on-windows/accessories/connect-xbox-one-controller-to-pc link. But after I install the driver my xbox one controller X button lights up and I hear a vibration. But as i start farming simulator on my laptop and go into controls there is no response when trying to map the controller buttons. So I click save and the game flashes and I go into a new game. My controller is not working in the game. I've tried clicking on the controller or on a mappable button in the games controller setup menu and its as though farming simulator 2015 is not detecting my controller. Giants software say the xbox one controller works out of the box with farming sim 2015, But I am having massive issues here on why it won't work on my laptop. Can anybody please help me out. I've tried my ps4 usb charge and play cable, a htc m9 phone cable and nothing is working. Do I have to update my xbox one controller. One other thing. I am playing the game through origin ver 9.7.2.53208 - 380888. Is Origin the problem? I only just installed origin again today to play this new game on my laptop so I obviously have my account and mastercard and already 2 games in my origin library. I've been an origin member for a long while and only use it to occasionally play games on my laptop which I have bought in the past. I'm not a member of giants software forums and really don't want to have to create an account on their forum if I don't have to.
