When you say it won't select, you mean the cheat won't be active? Or the car can't be selected?

I could make up a code similar to that and see if it helps any.

The cheat won't activate itself, and I'm not really sure how else to explain it, being new to this and not knowing the lingo. For example, on my Gameshark, an unselected cheat is white, and a selected cheat will pulsate different colors. All the other code I have put in have been able to "pusate", and they work brilliantly. However, when I get to the GT3 and Viper codes, I'll hit X to select them, and they'll flash, but they won't stay on. I was particularly :censored:ed off at the Porsche code not working, having put in 30 lines of code, and I haven't put in the Diablo code at all for this same reason, that one being 32. I hope this clarifies what I was trying to say, and thanks for replying so quickly.

That sounds like gameshark accepting the code, but the code itself is targeting the wrong place. Hence nothing happening.

I'll take a look at the code and see if it's correct. If it isn't, i'll edit it so it's correct.

Just had a look. It seems to be all good so it might be a gameshark issue. Do you know what your gameshark version is? It could be that the code is for a different version to yours.

Unfortunately, no, and I'm not sure how to check. Do you mind telling me how to go about doing that; is it something printed on top of the disk, or in a menu, etc?

There's a few ways I know.

It may depend on the game/utility, but there should be a small code on either the case or the disc. For example, if I look on the disc of my GT4 copy. I can see this code...

SCES-51719

You might have SCUS on yours though.

If that isn't on the disc, the cover of your gameshark might tell you what your version is.

It's possible it's in a menu somewhere, but i'd look for it in there if you can't find a version on the disc or case.

Thanks. I thought it was something like that. I guess its the number that determines it. Lemme go check it, and I'll come back.

Edit: Just checked the disk. I doesn't have the SCUS code, but it says its v1.3. I can't find the case (probably thrown out; I got it quite a while ago), but that should be enough, correct?

Hmmm...then that code should work. Very odd.

Here's an idea. Create a new game in the gameshark menu (Like Gran Turismo 3 (2). Any name to differentiate it).

If it prompts you for a master code/enable code, enter in this:

ED978330 1456E79B

Now try entering in the Porsche code and see if it works then.

It is odd. Even being new to this sort of thing, I would've expected it to work.

I'll try this when I can. I would normally do this stuff within a day or two, but I just got GT1 again with a friend coming over for the weekend, so it could be awhile. When I get to it, I'll post my results.

Xenn, I've made an error. The GT1 demo cheat codes I've mentioned don't work on PS Sampler Disc Vol. 8, but on the Pizza Hut - Pizza Powered Demo Disc [SCUS 94292]. It still works on Volume 9 though.

Just for laughs.

Euro Demo 53 code:

Can't play anything (Arcade Mode)
D0029668 0001
80029668 0081

Okay, time for a serious code.

Euro Demo 53 code:

Enable Drag Race Mode
D002970C 0081
8002970C 0001
D0029718 93F8
80029718 9410
E002971C 0001
3002971C 0003

^okay, that makes me curious. Where would the drag race mode be anyway? I guess it'll magically pop up once I enter the code or something.

EDIT: I get it now since I've just played it. I apparently now can access the other race courses without using the track code.

It will replace the Dirt Trial mode.

I'm seeing if this will work in the final version aswell.

There is a picture in the "Searching for evidence for hidden things" thread of the drag race mode showing up in the arcade menu.;) It doesn't really do anything, it is just glitched onto the menu somehow. You might be able to pull it off.;)

Hmm...if it's crashing, it's possible you're using a different version than 1.2.

I'll give it a quick test and see if it needs any possible fixes.

Epsxe says: Regim opcode unk link and a chain of adresses.EDIT:Im using 1.2. Crashes after race menu. Corrupts data if activated on the loading game sceen at the start.I tried to mod epsxe, but no way to avoid that crash(only activating the code on the race menu).

Going to try a different activator for that and see if it works.

Your car sounds like the AI (NTSC 1.2 Alternate Code)
E01D5866 0001
801D5946 0001
D00A9B10 0200
800A9B10 0000
D00A9B10 0000
300A96A0 0002

Try that and see what results you get. The save data corrupt message no longer appeared with this fix.

I'd say an easy fix for that, is to get an Acura NSX '93, then apply it's racing body code to it. I don't think it has it's own part codes.

Tune it to however you like and it should suffice.

Say Xenn, quite a long time ago you said that you may post a video of the Free Gear Select code in action, but you haven't posted any. Are you planning to post a video of that code anytime soon?

Because GT5 has an agreement, which you accept in order to play it online. And modifying save files and/or game files is violating this agreement. The other GT games doesn't have an online part and they also don't have this agreement, that means you're allowed to modify your save game, et cetera.
That's at least how I know it, I might be wrong, though. Would be great if somebody could either confirm or deny this.

^I would say that you're right RacingPanda. You can't hack GT5 because that would require hacking a PS3 and PSN, which violates the terms. It isn't like that for the other GT games since you're only hacking you game copy with usually a Gameshark or Action Replay disc.
