Pile up would require a safty car afterwards. ;)

I loved the look of the Pace car in GT4... Nissan Skyline

I bet the next Pace car is going to be a GT-R.

it would be awsome if they used the skyline saftey car from gt4 in gt5 id love it if there were real yellow flag situations, ie an AI car crashes beyond repaire then there is a pre determined 3 laps behind the saftey car whilst its removed.. of course we dont see it remoived it would just disapear after 3 laps of sitting there.. but would add so much to the experiance..

same online if someone crashed out saftey car out whilst there kicked.. (unless host then your screwed lol) keep behind it for 3 laps could make it random i guess though anything from 2-6 laps.. with time penalties if you overtake.

would be sweet :D

Be carefull what you wish for.

Driving around for three laps behind a safety car doesn't sound like fun to me especially if it's say a five lap race.

^It should be only when the races are over a certain distance/laps. Having it in enduros will be fun while in a sunday cup it will be annoying.

The AI has improved in GT5P. No reason why they'd go back to GT4 A not I.

It has?? Is mine the only copy on the planet where the AI drivers regularly go off track? And i don't mean running a bit wide, i mean being 30-40ft off the road at turn 3 at Fuji on the grass yet they still can accelerate without losing control just fine. hmm. Personally I think the AI is the weakest thing in the game, and it seems worse to me in GT5:P.

Not sure on the safety/pace car thing to be honest, it was a feature of the old nascar/indycar games by papyrus, and while authentic, gets a bit wearing after the 10th time an AI car hits a wall and destroys your lead yet again.

Yeah i`ve noticed that too. They have the ability to be way off the track but somehow magically get back on with out any trouble.

Safety cars in games will be good for one thing... ^^

Same with Blue Flags... I cant see too many people letting someone through cause a blue flag is waving... unless you start introducing a whole new penalty system.

IN the GTR-series it helped a lot online.
But it takes a strong online community to pay attention the rules.

'But it takes a strong online community to pay attention the rules. '

That rules out GT5 then... bumping people of the track, constantly.

its going to be a lot harder though, because GT has a young fan base as well as more mature (healthier drivers) the 12 year olds on the other hand may not have the slightest idea of racing and just use other competitors as brakes by shunting into the back of them.

If no safety cars there should at least be local yellows

You should have to reduce your speed in local yellows. When you get to a local yellow maybe the computer can automatically slow your car down like its in pit lane and keep you at a reduced speed until your out of the danger zone. The AI should do the same which should reduce or stop some of the big collisions we've seen in the Gamescon demo

I just can't imagine a trashed car sitting in the middle of a blind corner with tires and foam walls all over the track with no yellow and damage enabled.

After the local yellow is finished the tires/foam/car/car debris should go back to their normal places as if a safety crew cleaned up the mess

You could drive it and it was featured in a couple of license test (you need to follow it without overtaking).

EDIT: Bad quality but here it is:

I'm so happy that I managed to get that car in 1:43 diecast form, best £40 I spent on a 'toy' :D

You mean safety car?
What he meant was, idiots who point out obvious typos/mistakes on the sly without adding anything to the thread. Grow up eh?

If you want to get picky like that, let's analyse what you wrote. For a start, the inclusion of a question mark implies that you are asking a question. What you actually wrote was a literal statement. For your statement to be a question, you should have written:

"Do you mean safety car?"

Funny how it's always the ones pointng out other peoples mistakes that seem to make the most errors...

I would like to see some kind of flag rules in GT, just for realism.

Also, I like the idea of failiures, would spice up a 24 hour race no end, even if they cant do engine or "car" part failiures due to some license issue with manufacturers not wanting to see their cars breaking down in a game, punctures would be cool.

I remember in GT4 thinking how cool 24 hours at lemans was going to be, but I was so far ahead after about the 2nd hour and I knew nothing was going to break on my car (even if i didnt look after it or the tires like you do in a real 24 hour race) it became a little bit boring....

I really hope that they have this sort of thing in the long races, (clearly yellow flags etc would be pretty annoying if they happen on the short 3-6 lap races!)

Better still I guess it would make a fantastic extra option aimed towards those who want a more realistic racing experience (and would be a lot better for online play than the silly pause penalties that prologue had.)

:tup:The closest at realism as we could be better!!👍

It is one of the best looking safety cars I have seen, real or not, and I aren't even that big of a GTR fan! :sly:

👍 Good point.....what if we had no overtaking on yellows otherwise you received a penalty, and then the person in front of you slammed on his brakes and you overtook him by accident. what then? would YOU get a penalty?? and it couldn't even be a 4 second penalty straight away because otherwise everyone else would overtake you and maybe get themselves penalties. It would have to be either a penalty when the flag is lowered ( which could cause a pile-up on a corner somewhere) or a pit-lane run next time round with no tyre change, fuel stop etc.

The amount of times i've been bumped off the track at a corner by someone online and then I get a bloody 4 second penalty and they escape with nothing is an absolute joke.

And with regards to the AI in Prologue, Has anyone else noticed that at the first corner on fuji on arcade the AI cars seem to all have a bit of trouble as they come round to exit the corner and very slightly stop for a split second or two (maybe more). I'll get some video evidence.

What about motorsport marshals? They are responsible for the safety of competitors and are stationed at various points of danger around race tracks to assist them in case of any collisions, accidents or track problems.

Probably a good idea for GT6. ;)

Simple solution to that :), Safety car out all cars on autodrive till SC enters pits :)
