I would expect Tom's to do the work for free, and the money to be used for components and restoration of parts,

Still got to pay staff wages. All that time spent on the Supra means other work isn't getting done.

Have they stated what they are planning on doing with it when completed? $470k plus whatever they paid for it off the vendor (unless that price has already been rolled into the $470k) is still likely to be more than it would be worth on the open market.
