It's like a Suzuki Samurai or Geo Tracker type thing. I like it. But I'm not surprised a brand so unknown in the U.S. did so poorly here. The Daihatsu Rocky and it apparently was sold in the US, but didn't due too well here.
Maybe Daihatsu didn't sell well in most of the US, but I saw these all the time here in California back in the early 90s.The Daihatsu Rocky and it apparently was sold in the US, but didn't due too well here.
Never made Fiero successor
Would've thought it was a Citroen at a first glance.Came across this while idly searching old concepts today:
Toyota CX-80, from 1979. A commuter car concept designed to preview the cars they were expecting to arrive in the 1980s. Sadly actual 1980s commuter cars didn't turn out quite as interesting.
Ha, that was my first thought, too.Would've thought it was a Citroen at a first glance.

i'd be hard pushed to call it beautiful, but it did quite obviously influence the detailing of the Daytona, which came out the following year and was beautiful.
When Opel made it's comeback to Oz, it did sell as an HSV. Guess those would be forgotten as well. The HSV Astra SV1800 Sedan, so HSV has tuned Astras apparently. Though, I don't think this Astra fast enough for a HSV; it weighs 100kg more than a Mk2 Golf GTI and has about the same amount of hp.

How APALing...I also found out about the APAL 2154, which happens to have one of the worse names you could come up with for a car
