Thats a pretty nice time, what tire and hp did you have. Oh I almost forgot to mention that the 787B and the rest of the cars around that time weren't LMP but Group C cars.
The CLK Touring car must be the best DTM Racer out there. Simply the best đź‘Ť
werd. This is the car I use to pull in the $$$ with the German Touring events for the AMG CLK race car
It's one of the easier to cars to drive fast even with 650+ hp. Some cars I need 20-30 minutes of tuning before I get the settings right but the CLK Touring car was fast out of the box with minimal adjustments. It does great for the endurance races, also.
No worries buddy. You said Sarthe with the chicanes? They were called group C's back then I did not know that I must look like a fool now They are basically the same class when it comes to performance though. Well anyway the tires I used were RSS and I had 903hp, this time was just a little slower than my GT-One.

There were different rules governing the group C and the LMP cars, of which engine size and power were different, that is probably why DRLgian made the distinction. They really aren't exactly, or even basically in the same class when it comes to performance. The group C cars were monsters compared to the LMP's, in my opinion. I'm no expert, but I think perhaps fuel/tire consumption and ultimate top speeds may have been somewhat of a concern with the group C's and the LMP's may have had sanctioning rules to limit a lot of the "excess" with the group C cars.
But like I said, I'm definitely no expert on the subject matter, but I did read a little bit on "Wikipedia" .
"Unlike the LMP cars, Group C cars were less heavily regulated: aerodynamic and engine development were virtually unlimited. Group C cars are still faster than even the most advanced LMP cars"--from the website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Mans_Prototype
