Surprised there wasn't a thread already (I did search, apologies if something similar exists).

What is your favourite Car in GT7 (can be for any reason you like, please specify as I enjoy people's musings)

Since that might be tricky to nail, youre welcome to go with a top 5; unless of course, you can narrow it down to 1.

Mine:

I think I can say with certainty that mine is the F40. Its the original pin up from my youth, to add to that I missed it the first time round as it entered the LCD soon after GT7 dropped (before I had the game). There was the rotation debacle that saw the F40 switch places with (the Alpine perhaps?) that saw its return pushed back even further. When it did come round, I forced myself to learn how to tune so that I could hone it to suit my driving style as it was a little wild in the corners. Although it has the competizione parts available and goes like **** off a stick, souped up - I just love it looking stock on SHs at around base power.

Beyond that:

  • Radical SR3
  • DR30 Silhouette (new I know, but it goes straight in there with its retro cool and incredible grip)
  • Amemiya RX-7
  • Motul NISMO GTR (Gr.2)

These are literally cars that I'll jump on just to use regardless of whether there's a payout or not. I've spent hours just doing time-trials, lapping over and over in these for the enjoyment of using them.

What about you?

I don’t have one favourite I have many.
Like you most of these listed below I’ll just use to do time trail laps just be I like using them.

Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion
Porsche 918(yes only added yesterday but put over 500 miles already)
Ferrari Enzo
Alpine A220 race car
BMW M3 (V8 Swap)
Crown athlete (GT500 V8 Swap)
Ferrari 458 italia
Porsche 911 RSR
BMW M6 GT3
Porsche 911 GT3 RS (Cup Car Tune)
Nissan Skyline R32 GTR

That’s my list of favourite/most enjoyable cars to drive.

Some honourable mentions like the Carrera GT, Murcielago and RuF CTR3

Most LMP1, Group C cars I love to just drive them on time trials. Hopefully theres more time trials with them in the future in Sport Mode.
The 2016 Japanese GT500 cars also feel great. And I also really love the Zonda R, IMO it's the best track-day hypercar to drive in the game, it feels just right.

Beyond race cars... The F40, the F50, the Carrera GT, the 918 Spyder, the Aventador LP750 SV. All feel great IMO. They don't drive perfectly, but it's fun to drive them.
Some old cars like the S Barker Tourer were also a pleasant surprise to drive. It's slow obviously but it doesn't have the boat feel I would expect from a car of the 1920s.

I've grown to love to drive the Alpine A220 as well. Car is really nimble thanks to its leightweight body.

Hmmmm......

Amemiya RX-7 because I've loved it in previous games and it's got "that sound".
BMW VGT because it's like cheating and is darned near perfect.
Honda Civic Race Car because I'm a Civic fan.
BMW Z4 GT3 because it's badassed looking and handles beautifully.
Red Bull Jr because it's crazy, it's fast, it looks cool, and it's very controllable.
Also, every Kei car in the game, because I love tiny cars.

I'm with @Ryan Dungey on this. I really don't have a "favorite" among the whole collection. It really depends on my mood, the type of race, class, etc.

If I had to pick 5 off the top of my head I'd probably go with these for the following reasons (in no particular order):

  • Dodge Challenger R/T '70
    • The '70 Challenger has been my favorite car since the 70s when I was a kid (was born in the late 60s). I actually own a '69 Dodge Charger which I equally love. In fact, it was a big reason I bought my 2010 Challenger R/T (new) when Chrysler decided to create the retro model back in 2008. Not the same but as close I would get to having one.

  • Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.4
    • Nothing special about this one other than the fact that it is usually my "go to" for GT4 races. I guess I just do well with although I also use many of my other Gr4 cars as well.

  • De Tomaso Pantera '71
    • What can I say. Yet another choice based purely on a nostalgic whim from my youth. It's just a cool looking car from that period. I have 3 of them in-game right now with one being heavily modified. I also enjoy the '69 Mangusta.

  • BMW M3 '89 / BMW M3 Sport Evolution '89
    • The '89 M3 has that classic '80s look (bulged fenders, etc.) which again brings back great memories. I wish they'd introduce the Mitsubishi Starion ESI-R rom that period. .....my brother had an '86 (what a fun car). It's part of the reason I purchased an '03 WRX when they first hit our shores with the '02. It had that retro '80s feel with the fenders. ....wish I would have kept that car but I had no more room. Sold it when I bought my Challenger in 2010.
    • I also used this car extensively (and successfully) to progress in the game.

  • Ferrari 308 GTB '75 / Ferrari GTO '84
    • I always loved the 308 even before Magnum PI made it popular. Again, another example of a car(s) that are on my list simply for nostalgic reasons.

Can't say it enough that this list does not represent all of my favorite cars. Again, that can really depend on the type of race, the track, my mood, class restriction, etc. In fact, I think I would be better off providing a list of cars I simply hate or have no interest in than listing all of my favorites and the reason for each. lol

There are a lot I have and have yet to obtain in-game which I'm looking forward to spending more time with (like the '67 Lamborghini Miura P400). There are so many I enjoy playing with although I think I can say with 100% confidence that the "Vision" cars do not and never will be among those I consider among my favorites. Hell, I'd probably pick a Kei car over one of those. ;)

If any of you want a potential addition to your favourite cars to drive. I give you my Porsche 911 GT3 RS Cup Car tune. Wide body it and put all the aero parts on. Put all performance parts on. Put a scruffy little lap together to demonstrate the potential of the car. I will say though the car will and can bite but that’s what makes it fun. I hope this atleast makes an addition to someone favourite car list.

CLK-LM - The closest car we have to a CLK-GTR and is a all around great car.

F1 GTR 1997 - My favorite body style of the McLaren F1 and it looks and sounds good along with being a great performer like the CLK-LM, also is from my favorite era/year of GT1.

F1 GTR 1995 - Looks and sounds good but the performance isn't the best with poor brakes and mid handling but it's still my favorite Gr3 car to use.

R30 Silhouette - Not the fastest car IMO but the handling is indeed very good though it's slower than the F1 GTR atleast for me, it's my second favorite Gr3 car.

Nissan 300ZX Z32 TT - My real car and I love the widebody option for it as I would like to put on that is very similar to that on my real car.

Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak - Extremely fun and fast car to drive and the sound is pretty good.

Ferrari F40 tuned to Competizone/LM spec - Very good car though I think the handling may have been tweaked as the AI seem to spin quite easily in this car ever since the update that included the Escudo.

Corvette C6 ZR1 fully tuned - Sounds mean and handles pretty well and can beat Gr3 cars with ease.

Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion - Not my favorite GT1 body style but the car is one of the best performing Supercars in the game, I hate how it doesn't have a weight reduction option as the car would perform even better with them. It also sounds really good.

Ferrari F50/Lamborghini Diablo GT/Murcielago LP640 - Tie - I like all of these cars equally as much, they all handle okay with enough tuning.

Gran Turismo® 7_20220729215434.jpg

This car doesn't have a weak angle. Note the conformity of the front and rear lights. What other car has this?

Ferrari 308 GTB - This is the best looking car ever. Inside and out. So glad it's in the franchise. One of my favorite Sarthe slayers.
Nissan Z Performance 2023 - Nice addition to the Z legacy
Lancia Delta '91 - How can a car be so skinny and yet so phat?
Ferrari F12Berlinetta - This car drives itself. My favorite Spa slayer

PS gotta add the Greddy Fugu Z to the list... my new favorite for Sarthe... at 688 pp it will reach 200mph on mulsanne before the 1st chicane.

My most used car overall at 4,500km.

Another car I have always loved in reality and driving in GT.

Lexus RC F GT500 2016
GT500 machines are monsters, and with me being a Lexus and Toyota fanboy this was always going to be my choice.

This week my favourite car is...

Aston Martin Vulcan

No tune, racing softs. Goes great, looks great , sounds amazing in the last 500rpm (earphones)

Enzo
P4 330

Both need to have their suspension tuned. Even tuned they're a little squirrelly but they are Ferrari's. Fast, a touch wild and tons of fun

I'm a huge fan of the 512 BB, both in Sport and GT7. Just something about the floaty steering and unpredictability of a classic supercar that makes it hugely fun to drive.
