Your first lap

Heh, I took it very steady and with care. It payed off as I managed a 1.58 first lap in stock car ...

Can't remember the time from Tuned Car, but it was a bad lap with some off-tracking :).

my first 3 laps i consistently spun out, then i posted a time for 353rd then that went down to 267 then i switched to the tuned car and felt way more comfortable with the handling and quickly got a time as 212th then 141 the tuned car was my saviour!

My first lap was a horrid 2:45. I've never spun out so much in a game and have to admit the physics are incredible. I really (IMO) think it closely resembles iRacing's physics (Non-Tuned Z).

I did download R1600Turbo's and GTP_drama-kyd's ghost replays last night to follow them through turns but they both lose me at turn 5.

my avg is low 1:42 right now. Need to get outta work and lower that time.

Edit:

I cant believe you're settings those times with a controller R1600Turbo. I could barely break 2's with the sixaxis.

My first lap was even worse, it was a disaster. I'm someone that wants to drive to the limit right away, instead of first learning how the car handles. So I kept spinning out.
Isn't that most of us? I decided to get the street machine down first, and boy was it fun. "This is probably a lot like Prologue... I think I can - well crap."

Like most of you, my first lap included quite a bit of... off road exploration, but I just couldn't restrain the urge to push that 370Z as hard as it would go, so mine was well into the two minute mark also, like 2'30 I think. Fortunately those street tires are a good teacher, so my first run with the tuner was a lot more successful. In my hunt for good lap times, I still end up pushing too hard... :P

There is a word for people who tell people to do one thing but do not practice that same attitude themselves.

Whats the word??

Anyways, my first lap was memorable, to say the least. Between spinning and laughing I learned absolutely nothing. It was one of the best laps I have ever experienced in a racing game. 👍

I don't remeber my first lap at all. In fact, the first 15 minutes are a bit blurred in my mind. All I see is a lot of green ... :dopey:

I got completely owned. I haven't played GTVP either but I didn't think I would be that horrible. I think it was something like 2:30. I was a little better with the tuned 370Z, but overall it was really sad.

First lap on the 370 is like music to my ears, controlling, modulating, controlled pressure…. I did 1:59 first lap, after 5 minutes, I was at 1:56, placed 121th in Canada

Playing with the controller is a bit tougher since you have to know how much pressure you apply and there is no FORCE FEEDBACK, buying a wheel is a VERY good option to improve your skills and get the maximum of this simulation. This is no longer a game.

Good suggestion> Learn the track first before you go full swing!

Congrats to Drama, timeattack and R1600 and all the other GTP guys at the top of the board. I'm about 1.5 seconds behind in both the tuned and stock car.

Oh yeah, my first lap was LOL. Actually my first 20 laps were LOL.

Ok, maybe 100 laps is too much, but it's not worth mentioning any of your first say 20-30 laps.

I doubt anyone will put in their fastest lap time within the first 20-30 laps. It's the same with professional racers. It takes dozens of laps to learn the course and hit your best lap times.

actualy my first lap in the tuned 370 is still my fastest at 1.42, but i did run 5-6 laps in the stock 370 first, which where 2 minutes plus.

My first lap was a disaster...thought the braking line (hadn't turned it off yet) was going to be too conservative and ended up flying off the track. Lap 2 was a large improvement in comparison, still nothing to write home about.

My first lap resulted in me hitting the "restart" button at turn 1.

I must admit do the same thing 👍 My first full lap was in the stock car with a 1:54.8 and my second full lap is my current fastest (1:50.8) hahaha...man, I'm cap'n slow.

I was so terrible with the controller, but damn it was still such an exhilarating drive, that I can't wait to break out the wheel. Love loading up a leaderboard's ghost and trailing behind. I cannot remember my 1st lap time and hope that I never do. :ouch:
